Gandalf dear, when the Prophet (pbuh) had declared he the prophet himself is not infallible, why would his blood relations be infallible? Think, it seems hard for you do, due to preconceived notions and blind faith in shi’ism.
when the Prophet (pbuh) conveyed ** he is only human being,** only the shia will declare that their imams are infallible

Sahih Muslim Hadith Hadith 6297 Narrated by Anas ibn Malik
There was an orphan girl living with Umm Sulaym (who was the mother of Anas). Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) saw that orphan girl and said: O, it is you; you have grown young. May you not advance in years! The slave-girl returned to Umm Sulaym, weeping. Umm Sulaym said: O daughter, what is the matter with you? ** She said: Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) has invoked a curse upon me ** that I should not grow in age and thus I shall never grow in age, or she said, in my (length) of life. Umm Sulaym went out, having hurriedly wrapped her head in a shawl, to meet Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him). He said to her: Umm Sulaym, what is the matter with you? She said: Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) , you invoked a curse upon my orphan girl. He said: Umm Sulaym, what is that? She said: She (the orphan girl) states you have cursed her, saying that she might not grow in age or grow in (length of) life. ** Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) smiled and then said: ** Umm Sulaym, don't you know that I have made this stipulation with my Lord. And the stipulation with my Lord is that I said to Him: ** I am a human being and I am pleased just as a human being is pleased and I lose temper just as a human being loses my temper.** So for any person from amongst my Ummah, whom I curse ** and he in no way deserves it,** let that, O Lord, be made a source of purification, purity and nearness to (Allah) on the Day of Resurrection.
Sahih Muslim Hadith Hadith 6167 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: ** Do not revile my Companions, do not revile my Companions. By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if one amongst you would have spent as much gold as Uhud it would not amount to as much as one mudd on behalf of one of them or half of it.**
Sahih Muslim Hadith Hadith 5879 Narrated by Aisha
Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) in his (last) illness asked me to call AbuBakr, her father, and her brother too, so that he might write a document for he feared that someone else might be desirous (of succeeding him) and that some claimant may say:** I have better claim to it, whereas Allah and the Faithful do not substantiate the claim of anyone but that of AbuBakr.**
Sahih Muslim Hadith Hadith 5877 Narrated by Aisha
Ibn AbuMulaykah reported: I heard Aisha as saying that she was asked as to whom Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) would have nominated ** his successor** if he had to nominate one at all. ** She said: AbuBakr. It was said to her: Then whom after AbuBakr? She said: Umar. It was said to her. Then whom after Umar? She said: AbuUbaydah ibn Jarrah,** and then she kept quiet at this.
Sahih Muslim Hadith Hadith 6306 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:** Should I inform you that slandering, that is in fact a tale-carrying which creates dissension amongst people,** (and) he (further) said: The person tells the truth until he is recorded as truthful, and he tells a lie until he is recorded as a liar.
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith Hadith 6221 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ** "When I am gone copy those two of my companions, AbuBakr and Umar, follow the guidance of Ammar, and hold fast to the injunction of Ibn Umm Abd." ** Hudhayfah's version says "Believe what Ibn Mas'ud tells you" instead of "Hold fast to the injunction of Ibn Umm Abd."
Tirmidhi transmitted it.
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith Hadith 6111 Narrated by Anas ibn Malik
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ** "The most compassionate member of my people towards my people is AbuBakr, the most rigorous regarding Allah's affair is Umar, the most genuinely modest is Uthman, the one who knows most about obligatory duties is Zayd ibn Thabit, the one who knows best how to recite the Qur'an is Ubayy ibn Ka'b, and the one who has most knowledge about what is lawful and what is prohibited is Mu'adh ibn Jabal.** Every people has a trustworthy guardian, and the trustworthy guardian of this people is AbuUbayd ibn al-Jarrah.
Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it, Tirmidhi saying this is a hasan sahih tradition. It is also transmitted in mursal form, on the authority of Ma'mar who cited Qatadah as his authority, and it contains the phrase "The most learned in legal matters is Ali."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith Hadith 5.76 Narrated by Al Miswar bin Makhrama
** 'Ali demanded the hand of the daughter of Abu Jahl. Fatima heard of this and went to Allah's Apostle saying, "Your people think that you do not become angry for the sake of your daughters as 'Ali is now going to marry the daughter of Abu Jahl."** On that Allah's Apostle got up and after his recitation of Tashah-hud, I heard him saying, "Then after! I married one of my daughters to Abu Al-'As bin Al-Rabi' (the husband of Zainab, the daughter of the Prophet ) before Islam and he proved truthful in whatever he said to me. ** No doubt, Fatima is a part of me, I hate to see her being troubled. By Allah, the daughter of Allah's Apostle and the daughter of Allah's enemy cannot be the wives of one man." So 'Ali gave up that engagement.**
'Al-Miswar further said: -I heard the Prophet talking and he mentioned a son-in-law of his belonging to the tribe of Bani 'Abd-Shams. He highly praised him concerning that relationship and said (whenever) he spoke to me, he spoke the truth, and whenever he promised me, he fulfilled his promise."
