Lets not get excited, I meant tool belts, I am seeing more and more girls getting into trades, male dominated professions pay a lot more. In our oil rich province the govt is encouraging girls to apply for trades, Average electricians, plumbers I come across are making 100k plus.
Last Evening was my umhhhh!!! moment, after getting abused by GS’rs I was driving to pick up my kid and came across this beautiful pink Hummer with flowers all over it and the number plate said NAILERS, It had a live size picture of a beautiful firl with a pink tool belt. pink hard hat and a nail gain. apparently she owns an all female roofing company.
Would you consider a trades profession for yourself or your girls.
Re: Are the desi girls ready to strap on the belts!!!!!!!!!!!
If my kid wants to do it, why not! I'd be proud of her for not letting stupid gender roles/stereotypes get in the way.
I worked with one east indian girl, she started as a labourer, she is the construction manager with in 5 yrs, this roofing company is something else, the only hire girls. Look at the beautiful Hummer she can afford.
Re: Are the desi girls ready to strap on the belts!!!!!!!!!!!
during the summer months, i work on the farm doing research work...it's physically demanding work. in my 8 years of working there, i have never seen a desi female student [not even a desi male student] ever come looking for summer jobs. we hire up to eight students every year and mostly are white female students. it would greatly help them academically if they come and do the summer job. this will enable them to have a few publication of research paper before they graduate and look for jobs in the market. they don't do this kinda work because it simply is a hard job. most desi women want equality with western counterparts but refuse to let their 'shahzaadi' status go.

My 360 goal for kids is to develop strong bodies and strong minds, I had set a goal for my tweve year old girl to be able to run 10k and 3 chinups before her privileges get extended, MA she did it. You start getting active and you start loving it. Would love to see the all woman crew on the roof though.

I live in the Saudi of North America.
The average household income in Fort Mac is about $180,000. The average house price is almost $750,000. The majority of the population is under 40. The unemployment rate is about four per cent. The population in the region is 104,000, has doubled in the past decade and will grow by double-digits for years.
I live,
Not in Fort Mac but 5 hrs from there, I sell homes to guys from there all the time, power engineering diploma guys are making 160k plus, my friend quit his office job to go there and he makes 150k as chemical clean up guy.
Re: Are the desi girls ready to strap on the belts!!!
It is more like a big work camp, Suncor, Syncrude and most of the big oil have huge work camps and most of the workers live in camps, they provide free housing and food, they fly in and out workers from other places also, people usually don’t buy houses there, they rent out beds there.
Re: Are the desi girls ready to strap on the belts!!!
Mortgage maybe? Most people just rent these houses and make big bucks there and move back to their city later on. A lot of companies even offer to pay your rent. Oil and gas makes a lot of money.

Maybe they just aren't interested to work there. Or maybe they don't want to work there because you work there aswell. Doesn't have to anything with being a shehzaadi.

and i live in a place where $750K will buy you a 2 bedroom condo at best. plumbers and electricians still make way below 100K. sorry, not buying the randomness you are peddling.
Re: Are the desi girls ready to strap on the belts!!!!!!!!!!!
Crass generalisations first of desi males and now females. With only argument and counter argument being, I am rich, I am awesome blah blah
khuda ganjey ko Nakhun Na Dey ( if at all he has nakhuns ). And its laughable how someone constantly tries to brag about being rich on 100-200 K. Dude you don't even know what rich is, u perhaps haven't talked to one.
