Hazrat Imam Hussains sacrifice is one of the great moments of Islam and I am proud of that... but that great achievement was done as human beings and not some supreme being.. it was a purely human decision in my view which make it such a great thing...
This hadith in the authentic sunni sahih, SAHIH MUSLIM, verifies that verse 33:33 - the verse of purification - refers to the holy ahl bait. The wives of the prophet (pbuh), most of whom were righteous women, are EXCLUDED from this verse.

Then came Fatima and he took her under it, then came 'Ali and he also took him under it and then said: Allah only desires to take away any uncleanliness from you, O people of the household, and purify you (thorough purifying)

All very well. But can you please comment on the hadith posted above regarding ayat-e-Tatheer: the verse of purification which applies to the ahl bait.
It is from Sahih muslim which clearly shows the loftly levels of the ahl bait. It is referring to the ayat in the qur'an.
How can you compare ordinary sahabahs to them ? Aisha herself testifies to the holiness of the ahl-bait in this hadith.
Please refer to this hadith and give me yr comments.
I have posted numerous hadiths from sunni sources but I do not find anyone inclined to comment on them. All I see is request to stop this thread.

No doubt that Ahle bait are Afzal and better than any human being on the earth as they are Prophet's(Salla Allah ho Alaihay Wasallam)family
We don't compare These Sahabas with Ahle Bait
We only put them in order which best describes their status in the eyes of Prophet(Salla Allah ho Alaihay Wasallam) which was naturally decided by all Sahabas in the time of Prophet(Salla Allah ho Alaihay Wasallam)
If there is any problem If prophet(Salla Allah ho Alaihay Wasallam) is not available they would contact these four Sahabas in the same order.....
Sahabas never gave priority
to Hadrat Umar over Hadrat Abu Bakr...and never Hadrat Usman Over Hadrat Umar and so on but none of them complained of being less respected.....Prophet(Salla Allah ho Alaihay Wasallam) never stopped them doing this.
Hadrat Umar (Radi Allah an hu) slapped his son for fighting with Hadrat Imam Hussain(Radi Allah an hu)....That is Ahle Baits Fazeelat
But Hadrat Umar's orders to run the country were same either they were Ahle Bait or somebody else.....that is merit

Unfortunately this is INCORRECT.
In ayat 55-56, the Believers are warned not to take the Isrealites and the Nasara as their friends, since the latter had degenerated so much so that they rebelled against the clear guidance conveyed to them in the Torah and the Injeel. The friends of the Believers are then described as follows:
'Your friend is only Allah, and His Messenger, and those who believe, those who establish the Salah and pay the Zakah, and bow down (in prayer).'
It is in this Surah that we get the memorable declaration of ayat 3:
' This day, those who disbelieve have despaired of your religion, therefore fear them not, but fear you Me. This day,I have perfected your religion for you, and completed My blessings on you, and have approved Al-Islam as a Din for you.'
The Surah was revealed at the period when the Ummah had completely eliminated the menace of Jewish and pagan clans around Madinah etc.
I got one question for all of you, whether sunni or shia, i'm sunni myself. Tell me, will discussing about what happened wrong in our history change anything for us from a perspective of going to heaven.
Only muslims who follow quranic teachings and follow sunnah, will (i hope so) be rewarded on judgement day. Quranic revelation completed during our Prophet's(PBUH) time, and sunnah ended after his demise. All Khalifa's or Caliphs followed quran and sunnah to lead their lives and told the same to theummah they led. Any islamic action that ever sprouted in history traces back to these roots, either Quran or Sunnah. So my Shia brothers tell me, what do u think will make u more probable to go to heaven, following Quran and Sunnah or making Hazrat Ali as big as the world (i accept him, but not as a bigger example to islam compared to the Quran and Sunnah).
OK, so u shia's say that khilafat went wrong, ok even if you prove any that what you say happened, will that make u a better muslim in anyway other than being a better historian. I guess not, following firstly Quran and SUnnah is what makes u a muslim by faith and heart.

How on earth can you actually state that the Ahl-Bait were better and superior than the Messengers of Allah SBWTA.
The Messengers of Allah SWTA are the best of all humans. That is why they are mentioned in the Qur'aan, time and time again. No family member of any Messenger is superior to the Messengers. Read the Qur'aan with tajweed and tawheed. Do not just browse.
How would you compare Hazrat Maryam RA Mother of Hazrat Isa AS, to the Ahl-Bait?
Please give us your view.
Remember that one whole chapter in the Qur'aan has been named after the Mother of all Nations.

I used to read only ur posts regarding hatred for Sahaba Karam but this is really shoking to me... Prophets like Christ , Moses, Daood, etc who r mentioned in Quran in detail as Allah loved them and through them he transmitted revelation and message for mankind are lesser in any way to Prophet Muhammad's family who followed Sunnah of Prophet.
So now dont say that they also received wahi and revelation directly from God !!! as messengers of God do...
plus Sheraz dont think everything written in your shia books to be correct.. as u said to someone bout sunni books... I dont follow any particular sect and a admirer of Imam Sadiq Islamic law too.

1) Believing in the oneness of Allah(swt).
2) Professing faith in Prophet Muhammad(saw) as the last prophet of Allah(swt).
