Hazara whats so unfortunate about this? Why is there such attitude? I have never seen this thinking in Pakistan but shias from other countries act shocked to see that we have sunni friends and relatives.

try having an attempt by fanatics to shove sunnism down your throat and you'll understand where im coming from.
when you are targeted by those "brothers" simply because you look different and believe something different, you'll might be singing a different tune.

So every sunni you've met tries to do that? Every non Shia is out to get you? I come from Jhang the birthplace of the Sipah e Sahaba and have had many in my family targetted but still you have to know that in Pakistan at least in rural Punjab, more sunnis come to Imam Bargahs and Majalis than Shias. How can you say that its unfortunate that sunnies outnumber shias?

a lot of sunnis i have met often praise the taliban and wished that the taliban would have exterminated all of us from afghanistan. they accuse us of being treacherous for opposing the taliban yet the evidence is contrary.
i met a sunni tatar who held such extreme hatred for us that she was glad the taliban dealt with us because we were according to her a "blight on their landscape"
now how can you expect myself to hold a good opinion of sunnis when many sunnis blindy support the taliban, including their slaughter of us?

Your experiences are with Afghans and with people from that area. I am talking about the situation in Pakistan and India. We have had our problems with sectarianism but nothing close this.

Only people who got dropped on their head would think in such crooked terms. Why don’t you start a thread about safety pf sunni’s in India and Pakistan and I will give you the proper answer. The question in this thread is about shias and obviously they are saying it is safer in India than in Pakistan.
A normal person would know that since all muslims are safer in India it stands to reason that a subset, shia, are also that. But nooo! that is too much normal thinking for you ?

In India, shias are not looked in anyway different from other muslim sects. Hence the appropriate comparison should be situation of "shias" in Pakistan and situation of "muslims" in India.
And we know that shias are much better off in Pakistan than Muslims are in Bharat. Situation of Muslims in Bharat is more like that of African-Americans in America.

Shias do not have their job applications rejected only because of having typical shia names. Not so with Muslims in Bharat.

This simply shows how little you know about India and Indians. I don't think most non-muslims in India can distinguish between shia and non-shia names.
Just look at how many attacks occur on a weekly basis in Pakistan and you will realize what the facts are.
As to Muslims being backward in education and jobs - that is true of all communities in India, not just Muslims. All religions have backward status people. If you mean Muslims are backward in education compared to Hindu Brahmins, then you should realize at least for the past two or three decades Brahmins have been subjected to abominable discrimination by way of reservations and quotas against them.
As I said earlier, common knowledge that dramatically more attacks occur in muslim countries such as Pakistan against the minority sects within muslims than in countries such as India.

And as far as safety is concerned, this is problem all over in Pakistan, not specific to shias alone. So this question is absurd, if not malicious against a Muslim country.
You referenced shiachat, look the nick name of person who started this topic, a non-Muslim kafir. This shows that the question was asked with malicious intent towards Muslims. Because it is illogical to compare situation of shias in India and Pakistan. It is better to compare situation of Muslims in general in Bharat. And we know how safe Muslims are in Bharat, example Gujrat.

Bharatis do distinguish between muslim/hindu names when looking at job applications. That was the point.
