Please don’t assume me to be pro-men or anti-women. In fact, I strongly hold the view that the society should offer equal opportunities to both men and women. Our women folk should never be discriminated in any manner. But I don’t subscribe the western idea of equality concept between men & women. The western idea has measurably failed and damaged the social and fabric in the modern society. Unfortunately, Indian subcontinent is gradually importing this idea. I believe that men and women are not equal but rather complimentary to each other. Neither is superior nor inferior.
While discussing this subject with the man folk, I have always drawn applause and have been told not to talk about it with any woman. But now I am daring to come out in this forum. It would be really interesting to hear from the women folk.
u say women should be granted equal opportunities. this mean they should not be discriminated in access to education and jobs. but then you contradict yourself because what you're saying can be used as a justification for denying women education and the chance to get jobs.
I am not averse to women getting education. But I think that women should better be a home maker. See the western society today. Before late 50s and early 60s, women were mostly homemakers. The marriages were stable. There was a healthy balance within the family. Now you see. Almost 90% of marriages are breaking up. Young children are affected. Now there is a great discontment. A majority of western men and women live alone. Today western elderly people are repenting for allowing the trend of late 50s and early 60s.
Of course, my Swedish friend wouldn't agree with me. But she knows me pretty well that I am not anti-women at all. I am definitely not a religious fanatic who would confine women in the house.

Sal35… from primitive societies till today, it is a FACT that women are MORE hardworking than men. it was MEN that dismissed this important contribution of women as inferior and are still complaining now that they have entered the workforce. just as a simple example…a pakistani woman (house-wife) works an average of 63 HOURS a week (chores) it is also a fact that in the past they have been compensated with next to nothing for housework and to this day in the US they are paid less than men even though in many cases they work harder.

a) Spin it whichever way you want. Emotional strength ALONE doesn’t win battles . If men fight women on a battle field, women have no shot (of course we are making the assumption that both have equal brains).
b) look at Umair_ahmed’s thread on how puny men are scared of bigger men. It is a fact that weaker men will always be dominated by stronger men. Alpha males–who are taller, stronger–will beat the weaker males, hands down (of course we are making the assumption that both have equal brains.)
A man is superior to a gorilla, even though the gorilla is stronger. Why? because man is smarter. But if the gorilla were to be as smart as the man, then the aorilla would be superior to the man.
If you can prove that women are smarter than man, then you have a point.
But history tells you otherwise. Just look up inventions and discoveries. Men, men and men everywhere.

by the same standard i can say women are superior because they have more ENDURANCE, are multi-orgasmic (while managing to not let their hormones run the show or think from between their legs) and ofcourse possess the power to bring a man into this world

No, i think intelligence takes precedence and is the primary factor. But since intelligence is the same, we have to move on to the next thing: sheer physical brawn.
When two armies of equal intelligence are pitched in battle, the stronger one will always win. Biology and wild lives in nature are a testament to that.
I know of no female apes who will mate with a weaker male.
You have any idea why in this day of equality and fairness, more men than women are drafted for battle? You have any idea how quick it is to break a woman soldier through systematic torture and rape?
