Re: Are kids today more ill-mannered than they were in previous generations?
Definitely the kids are more ill-manered these days. When i was at school i did never saw kids throwing rubbish around, burning the classrooms or what 5 kids did in a classroom, reported recently on this form. U know what i am referring to.
yeah but i suppose the kids today grew up seeing crap from their elders, that their elders did not see from their grown ups, Know what I mean mate?
so when the older generation points fingers at the issues with younger generation someone needs to remind them that it was their generations collective actions, priorities and decisions that taught the younger generation to be what it is.
a pre teen or a teen dont become bad because the date on the calandar is 2007, they become the way they are by what they see on TV, see in movies, in videos, in society at large, from their peers. and who put ti all up there? not kids, not teens?
so the grown ups need to hold their generation collectivey responsible for whatever they think is wrong with the next generation. the next generation did not come out of womb being bad.
Re: Are kids today more ill-mannered than they were in previous generations?
I have multiple personality disorder, one of the personalities is a disgruntled rebellious teen, this post was written by that personality collaborating with one of my other personality which is a robot
I was once a kid too ya know, and in my teens I had to deal with such statements from elder generation folks, and this is eactly what I said to them.
actually I used to ask them point blank if their generation had raised concerns for their elders.
The answer to this was either silence, or dont talk back to us
God Bless my nana jan, I butted heads with him off and on on this plus other topics. Like one time when he was saying TV is crap and root of evil in our society, and I countered that if that is so we should take tilawat, and religious programming off TV, why disrespect holy text on such bad medium, .. toilet is a filthy place, u dont take a quran there do ya? so if TV is bad why have azaan or tilawat on it.
Re: Are kids today more ill-mannered than they were in previous generations?
well i like that rebellious teen vali personality…because like other adults you don’t blame IT ALL on us…and i know that some of it is our fault so cant blame u adults for it all.
Re: Are kids today more ill-mannered than they were in previous generations?
omggg, i asked my uncle that once…and he seriously got up to slap me…and he said “irsah ziyada hushayaar bannay ki koshish na karo” i was like
i mean one thing i don’t understand is how they will always try to prove themselves right even tho they know they’re wrong…and that just makes me angry…so what if your wrong? just admit it!..and they tell us…
Re: Are kids today more ill-mannered than they were in previous generations?
NO he jusy said that my generation had a habit of arguing. My view was that if you are going to say something, you should enjoy a discussion in order to convince me, otherwise I will hear you and think you are incorrect.
I must say that he mellowed out, I grew up, we both accepted each other for what we were, and learnt to relate and communicate, I enjoyed fantastic terms with Nana before he passed away.

Every generation imagines itself to be more intelligent than the one that went before it, and wiser than the one that comes after it.

George Orwell. Good man. :D
Personally, I think it's just something that adults of each generation feel as they're trying to raise the next generation.
But let's say they are becoming more and more ill-mannered. It really wouldn't matter because once the ill-mannered kids grow older and have kids, they won't find their kids to be as ill-mannered as the generation before them because they themselves are somewhat ill-mannered. :]
