Agree. And there is no guarantee that you we will always win in the finals of every tournament.

Do they put more emphasis on education? Are they bigger degree-winners than our kids? Do you think they hold more professional positions than us in the work-field?
You cannot compare Indians in India and Pakistanis in Pakistan because of the huge difference in infrastructure, political and economic environment and sheer population in the two countries.
However, when I look at Indians and Pakistanis here in the west, I don't see any difference in smarts. Indian and Pakistani parents seem to be pushing their kids in the same direction with education and extra-curriculars, both sets of kids tend to do well in school and I see enough representation from both countries (weighted by their population) in the work field.

A more apt comparison would be Muslims in India vs. Muslims in Pakistan.

Don’t see any difference whatsoever in Indians and Pakistanis in this country anyway. You’ll find more Indian and Pakistani doctors in the local hospital than Irish ones. Whether there’s more Indian ones than Pakistani ones or vice versa, how is that an indication of who’s smarter? I know a Pakistani woman who’s serving as a professor in the city’s university and an Indian woman who’s a postdoc researcher in the same university. The Indian students I know are as dedicated towards education as Pakistani students are, whereas the Irish students (most of them) take free education for granted and don’t really care. At least here, we desis are all the same. The Indian researchers in my lab bring home cooked biryani for lunch just like I do… see, same same!

In USA, you ask a desi guy where he works and he says Exxon. If he is Indian, he meant the Corporation, if he is Pakistani, he meant the Gas Station.

Then the question should be "has India progressed more since partition than Pakistan has ?" and the answer is YES.
But thats due to factors other than intelligence. Political climate (democracy vs dictatorship), rise of religious extremism, strategic foreign policy etc. And thats probably discussion for another thread.
