Do you have any statistics or are you just basing these questions on personal observations? Why compare us to the other brown people...why not with the Japanese, the Koreans, etc? It's still Asia. :(

Historically, I think as a subcontinent there were areas where education was a priority and there were areas where it was not.
Additionally it seems that the areas where education was a priority, the population generally was not into communal discord..I don't know which was the cause and which was the effect.
Many Muslims back in the British colonial rule did not value modern education, something Sir Syed really tried to fix, but entire families fell behind.
And in current era, India did start investing in excellent institutions of learning with top notch faculty and resources. Not having to deal with the ghunda gardee as seen in many Pakistani institutions also plays a role.
This is an area Pakistan can learn from its neighbour/sibling.

my immediate Indian relatives are more educated/degreed than (i'm strictly talking about college educated, not implying anything about intelligence) whereas my Pakistani immediate relatives are all primarily self employed business owners.
^does not apply to the US born generation..only talking about ghar ke barray (mom & dads siblings & siblings' spouses)

Education is being given importance like never before in India. with the IT boom, people are realizing the value of good education and are investing in education not only in the urban but also in rural areas. This is the story in the southern states while it is not so true in the northern states.

Yes they are and it is not presented to them in a plate. They struggled for and achieved that.

They are about 10 times bigger in population than Pakistan. So even if they have 30 percent smart , educated and degree holders in their population. They have got us beat 3 times in numbers.
If you compare a goat with an elephant and ask who has bigger eyes , nose , ears , limbs what would be an intelligent guess ?
There is no comparison here. Compare yourself to a country which is similar size in population as yourself for example Bangladesh, Malaysia or Indonesia.

Because here in US there are more Indians in professional positions than Pakistanis are and she is basing her perception on everyday observation in US.
There are more Patels , Reddys in every fields than Khans and Husains, in US.

Because its our starting point.. We got separated from them on the pretext that our co-existence would not allow us (Muslims) to grow.
