i am not a psychiatrist, or a mental health expert, so i don't think that i can engage in a scholarly discussion. I asked a very simple quesion. I don't understand what do u mean by, "they are born gay".
Are we talking about physical disorder here or mental disorder(some1's choice of being intimate to a member of same sex)

...and if we r talking about latter here, i wud like to know that do all of u liberal guys here really think thats its normal???
and wot reasons do u have to think this behavior normal????
because media, tv, and hollywood is promoting it as a normal behavior???

how cud u call it normal when it is contrary to nature??

Well Cnan ji ofcourse its not something new. It was a common practice in ancient Greece and Rome. I am not sure but i think it was phaedrus or symposium in which those greek scholers did discussed it...but what i am asking is, why do u think its' normal???

I think homosexuality is perverted and praticed by the mentally ills. Qouting homosexuality as a natural pehenomenon is just another sham by the gays to be accepted in normal life. They should be given equal treatment in all civil and social matters, but shouldn't be allowed to adopt and raise kids. Most of the homosexuals are the by-product of sexual molestation, according to many research studies. This might sound like further degrading the already victimized, but one is given a mind to make clear-cut decisions in life. If his/her choice turns out to be 'dildo-worshipping' or **s licking ...then too bad. They aren't worthy of any respect..period!!
All the gay people I have met turned out to back-stabbing perverted liars, living in their own miniature cocoons. As I have mentioned before, we pay for the choices we make in life and one should clean up his/her act first before riding the band wagon of classist insults. These are the consequences gay people have to live with.

People should be allowed to display their affection for others regarding their sexual preferences
Saturday afternoons when i take my kids to the park i seat myself on a bench and just take in how much love there is on this earth

what i dont understand is who sets what is right and not ......
should love be forced ?
If a person is unhappy in a straight relationship and is attracted to the oppositte sex should they hide their feelings and live a miserable life deprived of their rights just because society has made gays such a big issue

what more annoys me is the fact that how hard gay couples have in having kids and having a family ?

kids of straight homes end up being druggies, murderers, and involved in criminal activites ...these are kids with the so called ' a mother father and kids home'

kids need love and attention not a mother and a father anatomy wise

gays have more guts ...atleast they are honest bout themselves not hypocrites

recently while watching a documentary on crimes committed against gay ppl i was very moved by this point ...'those ppl who commit crimes against gays are themselves in some corner of their beings gay themselves...'

Nobody has yet openly told me that he is gay. Not yet. There have been rumors about some people. But I ignore it. In west u find gays that are obviously dressed so and so on. I never made friends with them so I donno if observations of outlaw are right.

However, I have a few good friends who are lesbians. Friendly and nice gals. I do not hang out with them much (what is the point) but that is not because there is anything wrong with them.

Islamic Law prohibits all acts of homosexuality (gayness and lesbianism). There are several verses in the Qur’an that talk about this issue and about the People of Prophet Loot (pbuh) condemning this act (See for example the Qur’an: Surah al-Ankabut (29) verse 28-29). Also, there are several Hadiths regarding this topic and Muslim Scholars do mention this issue in Jurisprudence. As to the issue of how the homosexual person is judged in an Islamic State, the companions of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) differed among themselves about this issue, and the Muslim Jurists after them had their different opinions too because the companions themselves didn’t have a unified method. For example, in the Hanafi school of thought, the Homosexual is punished through harsh beating, and if he/she repeats the act several times, he/she is killed. As to the Shafii school of
thought, the homosexual is punished like the person who commits adultery (if he/she is married) or fornication (if not married). This means, that if the homosexual is married, he/she is stoned to death, while if he/she is single, then he/she is whipped 100 times. Hence, the Shafii compares the punishment of the homosexual act with adultery and fornication (the punishment is known in Islam for adultery and fornication) while the Hanafi differentiates between the two acts because in homosexual acts, the anus
(a place of impurity) may also be involved while in adultery (and fornication), the penis/****** (which are reproductive parts) are involved. As to the issue of buggary or anal sex, it is prohibited in Islam even
between married couples.

I think homos are “Bemaaarii” (disease) and its a azaab(punishment) on humans, and it helps spread the more deadly disease(such as AIDS, HIVs, and others) which would kill many more than other wise.

As far as HIV, AIDS etc. is concerned, gays have higher chances of getting AIDS than straight.
But lesbianism is very safe. There is almost no chance of getting HIV if u indulge in lesbian activities alone. Other STD's are also difficult to pass if u are lesbian.
so the moral is that, to avoid HIV, be straight if u r man and be lesbian if u r woman.

Man, my remark was a left handed animadvert to say that “God has no sexual orientation”. How can God have a Sexual orientation? It is fairly stupid to assume that. Since, I don’t believe that there is anything wrong with being Gay, I used that as a metaphor. Sometimes, I have to bang a hammer on your head to make you read between the line.

But if you got offense, kill me. I am sure God didn’t mind that.

But anyways. I am going away tomorrow for some 3 weeks and I want you to keep an eye on everyone here (specially Sufi), and by the time I am back, hopefully this sexuality puzzle will have been solved.

Confusion here clearly shows the lack of Islamic Knowledge...
IT is very obvious story of Quran about Hazrat Lut (PBUH). Read that and decide if it is okay to be homosexual then why those people got the AZAAB of stones...

Conclusion is that Homosexuality is a mental illness....something contrary to nature can't be a normal thing(sexuality is associated wid reproduction; homosexuals can't reproduce?)

Yes I agree with Naik (please act surprised). Of the 2 people here who actually backed their convictions and stated that gays should have same rights as everyone else, i.e., allowed to rear children, both have children of their own and if either are teaching their kids that homosexuality is desired or normal I would be surprised.

Quite simply, a balanced upbringing for a child is with a male and female parent. Anybody who argues otherwise is probably sexist. For an unsuspecting child to be brought up with same sex parents, there has to be a good case for lack of balance.

Here rests the case of the prosecution.

This whole deal with Oh they are genetically programmed to be gay and oh who are we to set the ideas of what is right and what is wrong..

well, people are gentically programmed to get very angry and violent as well, should they try to sort it, or should they just do what they want without regards to anything cuz..hey..they dinn do it, nature gave them a bad start. Whats next a child molester or a rapist saying that he was genetically programmed to do that and thus its okay and not his fault or not bad at all.

and as far as laws go, or whats right and whats wrong...I assume that murder and rape will be okay too since its just some idea of right and wrong that some nameless faceless people came up with ages ago.
