Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

AND if it’s nonvirtual political discussions and about US politics, i get really into it, and during a desi gettogether i almost got a desi uncle all pissed at me because he’s an hardcore republican and i totally disagreed with his views on obama and the republican views…he was a heart patient so i quit the discussion, men get so worked up over all this stuff

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

life forums.... relaxing? :)

talking about beautiful clothes/relationships/makeup can be totally relaxing.... try it :p

I'd love to post more in WA but there are weirdos in there who seem obsessed with bashing India.. The same posters literally just write **thread after thread after thread **attacking India/Indians.. It's ridiculous..

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

if i had direct contact with the president i would talk and talk about my reaction to a particular news item. read the news and keep myself updated but discussing it like i have some way of directly bringing change or talking about it especially when it's about a country i don't live in is crazy.

Re: Are desi women ‘politically challenged’?

silent reader of PA/WA.

im prolly more in to brit politics any ways, but like nikky said…it’d hurt your egos :snooty:

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

I am sorry but there are gazillions of Indian trolls who bash Pakistan on a Pakistani Forum. So next time, think twice before you decide "bashing" members discussing international issues.

All these generalizations and bold words are indeed ridiculous!

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

Hurt egos? HA! While most Pakistani males on GS specifically have a very limited understanding of politics in general and Pakistani politics in specific (Most of them are born and bred abroad), ladies do not post on PA or WA because the catty attitude or hurt egos. Its more along the lines of the fact that they do not understand the nuances of Pakistani politics. The knowledge at best is superficial and not very well articulated.

Re: Are desi women ‘politically challenged’?

^ Yes, oh CM how right you are  How on Earth could I even think of arguing with that logic when you only talk sense, and we are rather, in fact a nuisance and dhabba on pakistani politics. Why don’t you educate us, please.

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

See you are perfect for PA. You got the sarcasm down, the inability to comprehend English and more importantly disdain for others and a sense of superiority. Everything one needs in Politics.

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

^ I think we have all those in common! hi5

Now I wouldn't want to get in to a cat fight with you over this but superiority complex? Pfffffttt, not at all...much to your dismay I should imagine

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

Why yes we do. You have to to discuss politics. Its a job requirement.

Damn it. I was going for all out insulting. Need to get better at that. Lusi is a chick. She moderates PA and WA, why do you have such a problem? Having a thick skin is a requirement of political discussions. If anything goes wrong you can obviously run to a mod.

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

^ But why cut the fun short by running to a mod ;)

In all honesty, like I said before...I skim those forums but I am probably more in to Brit politics any ways. I agree, thick skin is needed for political discussions...more importantly in talking to you though :o

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

I haven't stepped into that section for months and altho obviously there were trolls bashing Pakistan most of the petty namecalling (eg certain posters always referring to an Indian poster as a 'slumdog', calling Indians 'dark' and 'ugly' - making out, as Nisha once pointed out, that Pakistanis look nothing like them at all and constant references to Indian toilets, how exactly is that 'world affairs?') came from Pakistanis..

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

You poke the beast you shall get bitten. Pretty damn simple really.

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

hurt egos revive an old thread?

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

Gah, damn itouch. I meant patience is needed*

Re: Are desi women ‘politically challenged’?

Aww you saying I am special. That is soooo sweet

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

So basically you only bothered to read 1 thread where two sides were bashing each other. It defiantly does not reflect the forum or the wide variety of discussions being taken place over there. Why don't you go now and find me the kind of posts you have been enthusiastically mentioning. Also, why don't you go back now and participate in the "non-indian" discussions.

Oh by the seems like this bashing word only comes up when India is being discussed/critiqued. What about when members go on discussing middle east for months...is it bashing middle east? Again, it is better not to make statements based on your "once in a blue moon" type of visits which lasts a total of maybe 5 mins.

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

MEOW!! Even my KITTEH! is not that catty....
