Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

This is evident from male dominance in PA and WA forums. The only ‘issue’ recently discussed by females there is Zardari’s dressing sense!

This remains the case even when we have mandatory representation by women in national and provincial parliaments.

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

They have less thinking capabilities so they can't go into depth of any issue.

But we must accept that the few women who do take interest in politics make a lot of sense. They are far behind in religious bigotry as compared to men.

:aq:

Smoke and mirrors people…smoke and mirrors.

Re: Are desi women ‘politically challenged’?

Well…I was once in a thread and some1 basically told me to “Shut Up” or they will judge my level of education…well…after that day…I jst dnt go to what ever thread he goes to…coz I’d probably end up telling him where he should stick it!!!

But other than that..I like politics…but over here..most of the threads turn into Pakistan/ India bashing :bummer: I’d rather stay away frm these threads…they make my blood boil :bummer:

Re: Are desi women ‘politically challenged’?

Likewise

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

it's because most of them are airheads. and what an utterly juvenile thread that is - the one you mentioned...

I'm sure if Zardari was wearing a headscarf on top of jeans, the poster who opened that thread would have been just fine. the problem is not jeans. it's the lack of hijab. Zardari needs to wear his hijab.

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

I seriously think if desi women channeled their energy from silly household/inlaw/family politics, they can do well in politics. No seriously.

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

Why do we have to do well in politics?

It's not about "doing well" .....but the decisions/policies/actions of those who run the government affect a country and its inhabitants. And while I'm far from being an expert in the area....I do think it's good to have general knowledge about the world you live in.

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

Why shouldn't we?

Re: Are desi women ‘politically challenged’?

They have domestic politics to think about..

But I think it may be that they get intimidated by the amount of emotions/hostility running wild there. Talks/discussion about killing/death of someone in politics, calling names to politicians or referring to their color of skin, talk of death toll, bloodshed, revolution, murder, assassination, weapons, terrorists etc. :smack:

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

they rarely get time off from family politics to take part in broader politics....

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

I have the eficacy to discuss politics but I choose not to. Samb aka eyesonsky, bro you need to calm down.

That thread "Zardari in jeans" has reached 4 pages and 80% posts are by our male desi men, that tells that desi men are "airhead" and dumb enough to waste their precious time on such "useless" topic, they even got into mud slinging game like "women". How sad!

I'm thankful that I didn't get married to a Pakistani born and raised man and he knows how to honour a woman.

Desi men are quite badtameez, emotional and they start fighting like women when it comes to politics.
Here’s a n example:

The condition of PA and WA or even other forums with emotional paki male posters are not so different from this video. They should wear chooriyan and head scarves or rather chadors. :@:

Indeed, there are few desi men who have the ability to think and argue with logic and rationale like ravage and Namaan but baqi sab maya hai.

Re: Are desi women ‘politically challenged’?

Disclaimer: No disrespect to women intended.

I just wanted to know why women do not involve themselves in political discussions where they can bring in non-badtameez, non-emotional and peaceful insights. And if men start ‘fighting like women’ there, its their own turf then! Can easily defend and hit-back.

Those claiming ‘heated’ or ‘explicit’ discussions on PA and WA forums have obviously never visited any UK or US political discussion forum. Even Paul Krugman who mostly writes on economics in the New York Times had to call for a stop!. Political forums on GS are generally more civilized than some of the ‘men v/s women’ and ‘pakistan born v/s FOB v/s BBCD’ discussions elsewhere.

While women claim equality, why not in politics as well? Is politics (World, US, UK or global, at least at an awareness level) which has profound effects on our daily lives not considered worthy enough to be given a thought?

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

The crap that I got to hear in this thread after opening a thread after years in PA, I don't think I'm willing to discuss anything further with hijras.

I used to post there a lot, but I myself ended up indulging in silly fights with the so-called male members.

Don't make my thread basis for your arguments of desi women being dumb enough not to take part in political discussion because if I need to prove my wit by posting in PA's proper threads then I'm better without proving it.

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

^ Point taken and proven.

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

Btw, I'm not from those women who ask for equal rights in EVERY single thing. I believe a chivalrous man is real man and baqi sab maya hai.

Re: Are desi women ‘politically challenged’?

LOLz at the fight the guy used the Desi slap… :rotfl:

Strike one… :dhimpak:

Re: Are desi women 'politically challenged'?

i read the news online and keep uptodate on current events but i just see it as totally pointless arguing about hyderabad, punjab, or any issue happening in south asia when I don't live there and i'm not a citizen there

if there's an issue that concerns the country i live in then watch we blab on and on :P
