The culture very much values chastity and virginity (especially in women) and is extremely sex-segregated most of the time to deter pre-marital relations and traditionally has had extreme punishments for stepping out of line. I didn’t even try to paint it as good or bad, but the fact that you think I was trying to make some statement about it already says it all.
