arabization of islam - great article

Re: arabization of islam - great article

Salam-o-Alaikum,

Arabization is a thing of preferrence. If i pray sincerely, my Jeans won't make my prayer invalid.

Arabs dress the way they do/did is because it's the regional dress, just as South asians have a certain dress code. The dress should not be the first thing on a list of things to do for a muslim to be a considered a good Muslim.

Now as far as muslim names go, Michael can be Muslim as well. It is when your name indicates shirk that it becomes a MUST to change it if/when you have converted to Islam. A guy named Ram will be in need of changing his name because his name is an attribute of something that is associated with God, hence shirk. Taking up arabian names is not a necessity to maintain muslimhood.

Dress Code:

When the level of Love for the beloved Prophet (PBUH) reaches peak and you feel the urge to dress like him, act like him, live like him, all other things including 'arabization' will follow suit w/out much thought or fuss.

First be a better muslims of the actions, then appearance.

Just MHO.
