I recently found out that Ma'salamah (with peace) is a traditional Islamic way of saying farewell so that makes it Islamic.
non-muslim arabs say it as well...and yes you are correct it does mean 'with peace'.

Masalamah just means "with peace" as opposed to other words which contain the word Allah swt, Masalamah is an Arabic term often used as farewell..
Mashallah = What God has willed
CP I just did!
Masalamah = bye
Kaif Haalik? = How are u?
Anna be khairen, alhamdulillah, wa anta kaifa haalik????
Re: ~ Arabic lessons..
i heart Sami Yusuf’s oeuvres .
especially Hasbi Rabbi and Supplication. i think Hasbi Rabbi already is in four languages.
but exactly they are saying in Supplication (the arabic part)
Hasbi Rabbi
Supplication
Re: ~ Arabic lessons..
The best way to learn Arabic back in the day was to watch those Indian movies on Dubai and Bahrain television (33, 55 etc), and read the Arabic and English captions at the bottom of the screen. I am sure someone who lived there in the 80's and 90's knows what I am talking about.
You learned all the bad words, and could even sing the songs in Arabic (provided you could read Arabic)
^ lol..

In Hasbi Rabbi, the Arabic part is as follows:
Hasbi Rabbi Jal Allah
Ma Fi Qalbi Ghair Allah
My Lord is enough for me... Glory be to Allah
There is nothing in my heart except Allah
Re: ~ Arabic lessons..
