Being the Son of Babar who was himself a Persian (Dari) speaker I doubt Humayoun didn’t already speak the Persian of the time. Shah of Iran probably was embarrassed because of his high-brow attitude since the advent of his father saw some cultural changes that lead to the farsi of today being termed Pahlavian Farsi in Iran.
