There are plenty of thriving relationships between different minded individuals and that’s fine. But there are also people who want to find a partner who will be on the same level as them spiritually because the end goal for them is the hereafter. Obviously that’s not for everyone and that’s fine.
And i cant speak for other religions but in Islam we are supposed to follow the Sunnah of the prophet pbuh and he helped with housework, he was very loving to his wives and he was a loving and hands on father. So Muslims who wish to follow their faith to the best ability have to try and emulate him in every aspect of their lives.
Funny thing is that in case of divorce all the women want settlement as per western family laws you can’t say tallak three times and say see yaw. Most divorces I know of here with very religious hijabi women there were allegations of abuse chicks kept the house kids and demanded settlements I guess people pick n choose if religion or western law works to their advantage
