Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs
Also, when you arrange your bedroom, make sure the feet side of the bed does not face the qiblah… Position the bed as such, when you sleep in it, on your right side your face should be facing the qiblah. feet should be facing away from qiblah, atleast 45 degrees away…
Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs
Another one, when you come up the stairs, read ‘Allahu Akbar’ on every step… when you go down the stairs read ‘SubhaanAllah’ on every step.

I tell my children not to drink their water all in one go but to take it in sips and not to talk while eating (although this is very hard to implement)

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs
drinking warm water and eating cold food is sunnah? I did not know that.
I know that prophet waited for the freshly cooked food to cool down a little, but that does not mean that he used to eat cold food. Also I thought that he loved cold water (but I could be wrong)
Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs
Let’s see…
Wearing perfume. (OK, ladies, you can wear them when at home or in women-only gathering, not when you go outside.)
Keeping a beard.
Helping around the house. Prophet SAW used to mend his own clothes and milk the sheep.
Accepting invitations.
Oh, and praying your Sunnat prayers!
Is there a hadith that says it’s not OK to eat and talk?
Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs
My very innocent answer to that would be that my grandparents and parents always said it to us when we were young!
I would also like to find out if in fact it is a Hadith or not! I hope someone else can confirm.
