Application of Sunnat in household affairs

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

my bhabhi told me to always have a kajoor seed in your purse/wallet and you will always have money. I've been doing this for years, and I've always had some sort of cash on hand.

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

not blowing on hot food or drinks.

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

Never heard the seed in wallet:hmmm:

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

I didn't realise men couldn't wear solid red, do you have a a source for this?

I knew about gold and silk though.

Thanks

Always distribute foods among your neighbours. Who knows whether they have something to eat or not.

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

Performing acts in the house that are sunnah is one of the easiest ways if we can simply do the niyyah for it or intend it.

*
Volume 8, Book 74, Number 311: * Narrated Jabir:
Allah s Apostle said, “When you intend going to bed at night, put out the lights, close the doors, tie the mouths of the water skins, and cover your food and drinks.” Hamrnam said, "I think he (the other narrator) added, ‘even with piece of wood across the utensil.’

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

Never heard before. Is't true?

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

  • Drink water before eating food and not after
  • Say bismillah before eating
  • Sit while drinking water
  • eating a spoonful of sweet after each meal.

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

eating something sweet is sunnah?
I love sweets:D

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

How about sleeping on your right Karwat!

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

↑Yes, that's a Sunnat.

I have looked in so many places, but haven't found any source for eating sweet after meals. So, not sure about that one.

But, anyways...

Saying "Alhamdulillah" after sneezing.

And, the person who hears the sneezer say "Alhamdulillah" should reply by saying "Yarhamukallah."

Eat from what's in front of your plate. Meaning, what's closest to you.

Smiling at other Muslims. (Sisters smile at sisters and brothers smile at brothers, of course.)

I'll leave you guys with this:

‘Ā’ishah (RA) related, “I drank something while I was menstruating. I then passed it to the Prophet SAW and he placed his mouth at the place where my mouth had been. And I ate meat from a bone while I was menstruating. I then passed it to the Prophet SAW and he placed his mouth at the place where my mouth had been.”

Masha'Allah.

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

eating something sweet after a meal (even if its just one spoon) is sunnat.

I grew up seeing my Nani eating sweet after every meal sometimes it was just pinch of sugar or even sugar in raita

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

Jazakallah for this thread....a great reminder Mashallah. Is any one sure about the sunnah of not leaving dishes overnight? I always leave night dishes for moning.

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

well cuz its not appropriate :bummer:.

Re: Application of Sunnat in household affairs

I think this might be from the sunnah that we should always clean our plate and finish everything.
