I normally don’t send out things like that, because you never know whether they are genuine or not. But this guy called Shamim Akhtar is really fighting for his life at National Hospital in Defence, Lahore, after he was involved in a terrible accident. This particular case is genuine. My father has spoken with Shamim’s sister and they are really worried for his life. I have donated US$ 50.-- using my Visa card myself.
Re: Appeal for donations - Matter of life and death
yiung guy from a poor family, father is a driver, mother sews for a living. he fell from a motorbike and truck ran over his legs. If they dont operate soon not only will he lose his legs but his life maybe in danger.
total money they are trying to raise is 800,000-1,000,000 rupees, about 15K-18K.
Re: Appeal for donations - Matter of life and death
When you make a payment through paypal, it does specify the purpose as “Donation for Shamim Akhtar” and the payment will show up in your credit card as “URDUPOINT”. Paypal sounds safe.
Re: Appeal for donations - Matter of life and death
folks
umer has confirmed it, ppl can call the hospital and confirm it themselves if they want
but here is your opportunity to save a life, and to save a family.
its going to be 350 ppl approx at $50 each to make that target.
can we give what we can, and pass it to family, masjid and organizations like ICNA, helping hands, HDF, whoever to try and get this going.
time is of the essence.
Thansk Umer for informing ppl of this.
Thats 2 people less, we just made a donation each.
Thank Umer for sending us the information, I read the story and feel absolutely sad for the family.
I hope many people donate so that the amount of 8 lakh is reached and the life saving operation can be done asap.
Re: Appeal for donations - Matter of life and death
May Allah (swt) bless him with good health. Ameen.
Blessed are the people whom Allah (swt) select for tough tests of life, because Allah (swt) reward them even more in the life hereafter.
I remember a scholar mentioned a hadith that the prophet (saw) said that there is a great castle in Jannah that floats in the air from which the whole universe can be seen, and from outside the inside of the castle can be seen. When asked how would people enter it. The prophet (saw) said that people would fly to enter it and come out of it.
When asked, " For whom did Allah (swt) made that castle"
The Prophet (saw) replied, " All those people who were hadicaped in this world "
