Re: APC on terrorism
APC press release mentions dialogue with only those groups who fight in the name of jihad in retaliation to WoT & Drones. Army & agencies have that list.
That is an important point.

And for those who are fighting for shariah( for their own twisted shariah)...do we have to make Miansaab PM one more time?

Peace dialogue: TTP says it has received, responded to Nawaz’s letter
ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Taliban on Monday claimed that its central leadership has received a letter from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with respect to a peace dialogue and that the TTP has replied.
“I would not disclose contents of both letters as the contacts are at very early stage,” a leader, who is part of the Taliban’s Political Commission, confirmed to The Express Tribune by phone.
The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leader requested anonymity as he is not allowed to speak to the media.
The TTP confirmation coincides with the All Parties Conference that is also discussing the option of talking to the Taliban.
The Prime Minister told the conference on Monday that priority should be given to dialogue.
The TTP said they are closely monitoring the APC and will release a statement following any decision made in the meeting.
“We will give a positive response if the moot makes some progress towards peace process,” he went on to say, adding that the TTP will announce a team for negotiation after the government announces its own delegation.
“We will also propose some members of different sections of the society including media persons to monitor the possible negotiation process as mediators,” the TTP leader said.
“We will suggest that the mediators must check as to which side is violating commitments,” he said.
To a question about the internal TTP differences over the issue of dialogue, he said the media is exaggerating the issue and that differences are not so serious to pose threat to the dialogue process.
The TTP leader also pointed out to some bridge building between the TTP leadership and Esmat Muawiya, the TTP Punjab head who had been reportedly removed by Hakimullah Mehsood last month after he welcomed the offer of talks by Nawaz.
Re: APC on terrorism
PS: Chorisaab was suppose to make huge announcement at APC.
Anyone know which chawal he is talking about?
Re: APC on terrorism
Imran Khan shook hands with everyone including Diesel … baad mein haath dhoo liye … just kidding
Re: APC on terrorism
Fazlur Rehman was heard murmuring “Allahumma Aoozubika min sharri Imran wa PTI”, forgot to say Ameen though. Kidding.
Lol@ TTP has received PM’s letter and replied to it. Well if that doesn’t make it seem very casual exchange of words, then I don’t know what is. Does this mean Pakistan Govt. knows the address of TTP Headquarters?
Re: APC on terrorism
EXACTLY! i’m sure the postman/mailman KNOWS the address in order to deliver the letter! ![]()

So which groups are left out? Baloch militants?
kya kehnay. The government is willing to lay down in front of those who retaliate equally, but would beat the crap out of those who are weaker then them.
Re: APC on terrorism
To this day I have not understood the concept of an APC. If an APC is (an all parties conference) where all parties are present, then what is a parliament? a netcafe? Could the same things not have been discussed in a parliament session?
Whatever policies that they agree on in an APC are toothless, and have no legal standing. Anything that they agree on in parliament is at worst, a strong resolution, or at best, a strong legislation.....something that has big teeth.
The only difference I see between the two is that the parliament is run by the speaker, and APC is run by the PM...so its all about taking credit for doing nothing....as now its all over the news that 'nawaz sharif ki qiyadat mein APC......'.
All Parties Conference or Round Table Conference are inherently flawed and undemocratic. These conferences provide equal weight to a party regardless of how much support it has in public and what the size of its membership is. Result is that a party like a PML-N with a big mandate in election end up having an equal say to a tonga party.
Such conferences are in our history from pre-independence days where the British used these as a way to offset the popularity of Congress against other parties.
Re: APC on terrorism
So they are going to have 'Muzakarat' with talibans. I am wondering what are they ready to concede in order to please them.

Re: APC on terrorism
interesting
According to initial reports, the demands of Taliban include release of some imprisoned people, amnesty for the ‘wanted’ persons, compensation for the affectees of drone attacks and withdrawal of FC from tribal areas.
Re: APC on terrorism
Pakistan should not withdraw from FATA abruptly in the garb of negotiations, as this would jist hand over the tribal areas to the taleban.
Re: APC on terrorism
Would they completely surrender? Turn in all their arms, ammunition?
Re: APC on terrorism
No. They have not indicated that they would renounce violence and the APC has not put forward any precondition in any case. The conditions would be from the other side.
Re: APC on terrorism
^ isn't this disturbing? APC has shown that we have yellow-belly idiots as our high-ups. They kept on saying that we are fighting the war for so many years but we are not fighting at all. it is the talibans who are killing our people. hike in terrorism in last two-three months is now clearly understandable as taliban wanted to dictate terms at the time of negotiations. No matter how the negotiations go, end result will be the same as before i.e., back to hostilities. We just have to see how much restraint and patience will be shown by our army.
Re: APC on terrorism
Too much emphasis on drones is ridiculous. Seems like the whole nation has adopted the jmamat-e-islami policy of stressing the most on something that you cannot do anything about
