Is being held today. It would be interesting to see what strategy it comes up with.
Re: APC on terrorism
Likely to be an inconsequential apc. But let's see. Pakistan badly needs this APC to be successful.

Re: APC on terrorism
nothing will come out other than what we saw last time...it will NOT be worth the paper it will be written on. i don't think these already tried leaders have guts or the will to do anything...they will do what they do best...noch khasoT and looT maar!
Re: APC on terrorism
Will Fazl-ur-Rehman sit next to Imran Khan? No flame wars…I just kid.
Hopefully a concise policy is formulated, and Interior Minister endorses it with backing of the Government to use whatever resources necessary to implement it at the Federal Level.
Re: APC on terrorism
Army asks the government to give a last chance to the terrorists for negotiations, and to provide a conducive environment they should announce a cease fire. If the talks fail then the war should be considered Pakistan's war.
Hopefully this time more then lunch menu and What kind of refreshments should be served will be on agenda.
Who else is not invited other then sheikh rasheed?
Re: APC on terrorism
Is there a list of members attending the feast?

To this day I have not understood the concept of an APC. If an APC is (an all parties conference) where all parties are present, then what is a parliament? a netcafe? Could the same things not have been discussed in a parliament session?
Whatever policies that they agree on in an APC are toothless, and have no legal standing. Anything that they agree on in parliament is at worst, a strong resolution, or at best, a strong legislation.....something that has big teeth.
The only difference I see between the two is that the parliament is run by the speaker, and APC is run by the PM...so its all about taking credit for doing nothing....as now its all over the news that 'nawaz sharif ki qiyadat mein APC......'.
Re: APC on terrorism
just another 'tea' party

valid argument
Re: APC on terrorism
Yes, “conducive environment” my *** as a drone strike would happen somewhere along the line, a thing that the army tacitly approves, and then the militants would be “enraged” and bomb some security convoys / civilians who are living their godforsaken everyday life as can be lived in Pakistan. Army / PTI / PM would blame america while PM and army would pat america on the back? covertly. Imran would blame America and drones, there will be some rundi rona by the media, life as “usual” (whatever the heck that means in Pakistan now…). Sound familiar?
Perhaps, I should send this script to hum tv? ![]()
Re: APC on terrorism
I dont think the negotiations would bear fruit. Anyways lets see.

at the very least, the dialogue-activists will be satisfied and for once a thorough consensus for operation will be achieved.
Re: APC on terrorism
btw, I fail to understand why PM seem so devoid of confidence when speaking on any forum like his first speech to nation or his speech in today's APC?
Re: APC on terrorism
Taliban hail APC’s dialogue offer
ISLAMABAD: The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has welcomed decision of the Pakistan’s political leadership taken at an All Parties Conference (APC) to hold talks with the militant outfit.
TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said: “Taliban welcome the dialogue offer and have a positive outlook about joint communiqué of APC”
Shahid said that the Taliban will issue it’s detailed point of view about the offer after a meeting of the militia’s Shura (central decision making body).
The TTP has waged bloodiest war against Pakistan, in which over 40,000 people including 5000 security personnel lost their lives.
Final approval is in. Now we can think about having some any kind of dialogue with killers.
Re: APC on terrorism
btw, this APC only exhibits intention to talk and there is no mention of framework, dynamics, central players etc. Lets just hope this does not turn out to be another futile APC
Re: APC on terrorism
Now the TTP would call their APC to deliberate on this issue. Lets see what demands they put forward. I am sure they’d ask for the release of some of their high profile compatriots, and ceasing operations against them. On their part they’d not deweaponize.

Sadly enough, that is what happens in an exclusive conference, where all parties are represented by no more than 1 or 2 reps at the most. In most cases, the brains of the party are absent... and if they are not present at such meetings, the party heads usually end up just bobbing their heads up and down to anything and everything that is presented....because everything that is presented at such conferences is bland, agreeable stuff.
Had these issues been discussed in the parliament, guys like Asad Umar from PTI, and others from PPP and PML-N could have put in their perspectives as well, and even if the discussion went on for a few days, it would have resulted in something more wholesome, and meaningful. Now, its just a xerox copy of the APC that was held earlier this year....which itself was a xerox of the APC held a couple of years back.
Re: APC on terrorism
this APC thingy is just a waste of time and a futile effort! nothing comes out from such meetings...
khaa pee ke apne apne ghar!
