Oil train derails near Liaquatpur Multan, Pakistan, Jan 04 (PPI :An oil train carrying furnace oil for Muzaffargarh Thermal Power Station derailed near Liaquatpur in Punjab province on Friday suspending all up and down rail traffic for several hours. Korakuram Express was stopped at Rahimyar Khan, Super Express at Khanpur, and Awam Express and Quetta Express at Liaquatpur. The track was cleared in about two hours after which rail traffic was normalised. A Railway official at Multan said the train derailed due to some technical fault in the bogies. (Posted @ 17:48 PST)

Re: Aother train derails...

no loss of life... good...

Re: Aother train derails…

lol … so now Mush has hand in “derailing” trains also! or you are saying that “trains are derailing in protest of dictatorship of Mush?” height of hatred

Do you want me to put a list of train accidents in “will based democratic” era of Pakistan?

Next news I am expecting form you you is

  • Nawaz/Zardari Got Constipation - Mush’s hand suspected

and your comments under that news will be

“For all the BS from the Mush camp, the NS and Zardari are still screwed up…”

Re: Aother train derails…

Who is responsible for the countries infrastructure?

You Mush supporters go to no end to tout Mush as the greatest leader whenever some infrastructure project is undertaken, but as soon as something goes wrong, you refuse to lay the blame at Mushie and his govts feet…

Just for the sake of conversation, who should we be blaming for this screw up?

Re: Aother train derails…

For heaven sake … you in senses?

these things happen all over the world in “democratic” nations and “dictatorships”. No one can stop this and that too when traitor from inside trying to derail the country… this can happen on any given day on any flawless infrastructure as good as Japan’s ! …

when democratic parties and their supporters end up looting banks, shops and removing bolts and flush plates form the tracks,…these things are bound to happen. As spock said, its good that there was no loss of life …

Re: Aother train derails...

Im feeling fine...
Thanks for asking.

In Pakistan it happens every other day... Just last week we had about 50 people die when a train derailed...

This happened in Musharafs dictatorship which you and other Mush supporters think has been "unprecedented"... What other country do you know where there has been "unprecedented" growth under such GREAT leadership where train derailments occur every other week?

It certainly is good that there was no loss of life, but dont you think someone should investigate who is responsible for such large scale mishaps during such an unprecedented time of growth and good governance?

Re: Aother train derails...

But do you see them gloating at trivial things like some mindless mushy supporters are doing so? I mean yesterday this one poster was celeberating a 'revolution' that musharraf brought along because the miniature models of some mono-rail were completed!!

Re: Aother train derails...

I totally agree with you that someone should investigate and if someone found responsible should be punished be it Railway employee who is normally responsible to running a "check cart" on tracks or members of political parties who removed bolts from the track but to held Mush responsible for each road accident/train accident/plane accident/constipation is a criticism for the sake of criticism and nothing else !

Re: Aother train derails...

I'll call it revolution when real mono-rail will run on tracks. Just like motor-way by NS

As 2 wrongs done make a right, this does not mean that Mush is responsible for every loose nut-bolts on the track.

Re: Aother train derails…

Oh my God, this is too funny. I will print this thread out and frame it. Perfect example of mental degradation of anti-mush camp. God forbid if there is any airplane and ship accident in Pakistan. They will implode in protest. :hehe:

Re: Aother train derails...

There was a minibus accident in Karachi some days back. I think Mush was driving it.

Re: Aother train derails…

Tabhi us ke mathay per DENT para howwa tha?!

:5:

Re: Aother train derails...

But dont you think the fact that there is no investigation and the govt could care less is a reason to critisize the govt?

These trains have cost so many precious lives, and yet the great Musharaf has yet to call an investigation?

Re: Aother train derails...

Genius, trains are derailing every week, dont you thnk the govt has some responsibility in all this?!?!

If it were to happen once, ok... But this is the second one this month I believe... Any other country and heads would be rolling by now.

Re: Aother train derails…

Again genius… Think!

If you had a plane crash every other week, someone might think there is something amiss… Mush govt seems to have neglected the railways, since just last week we had 50 people die and now ANOTHER train has derailed..

Doesnt that wreak of some kind of govt incompetance or neglect!?!!?!?!?

Re: Aother train derails...

lol.. Monorail.. We will see when it built.. Meanwhile, the existing rail way system is crumbling and we are losing people...

Mush and his govt are responsible for public safety and making sure the trains dont CONSTANTLY derail...

One derailment a year, ok, but this is ridiculous...

Re: Aother train derails…

If this cant make u understand, nothing can

Just take a look at the list of countries and train accidents from 2000-2007 and please let all of us know how incompetent Indian, USA, European, Japanese, Israeli and others governments are as compared to Pakistani Government.

And once you have compiled the results, lets send it to the AWAM of those “democratic” countries as they are not aware of the fact that leader of the Govt is responsible for each train accident (and every lose nut-bolt) and that they should start the agitation against their Govts

and once this theory of yours changes the face of the world, we will start the movement to nominate you for noble peace prize or we may start a prize with your name too after all this will save lots of lives by just throwing out the leaders of these “democratic” countries.

To start with USA had 6 train accidents in 2007…

Re: Aother train derails...

60 years and we are failed to have a parallel railroad. So much for the infrastructure.

Re: Aother train derails…

Pak railways my friends is not independant, the govt is responsible fot the safety of passengers and upkeep of the system…
If this is the second derailment in so many weeks, there is something wrong with managemnet…
Even in America there are actual protocols, people are accountable… Is there such accountability in Pak?

Lets have an investigation, has anyone been fined or anything been done to upgrade the syatem?

This article from the Dawn says it well…

Tragedy on the tracks

THE tragedy that struck the Lahore-bound Karachi Express near Mehrabpur is, indeed, unfortunate and is bound to turn this Eid into an unforgettable occasion for all the wrong reasons for hundreds of families who were awaiting the arrival of their loved ones to celebrate the sacred festival. To all of them individually and collectively go our sincere condolences. Though the minister concerned has not ruled out sabotage as being the underlying cause of the accident, it appears to be more a reflection of the troubled times we are passing through that an act of sabotage can always be considered as one of the possibilities. However, there are also indications that Pakistan Railways’ record of maintenance — or rather the lack of it — of its rolling stock and tracks may have had something to do with the disaster.

Earlier this year, in one week of the month of May, as many as three similar incidents had taken place on this very sector: Burraq Express had derailed at Shahdadpur, a goods train had gone off the track near Nawabshah and Shalimar Express had a similar fate near Mehrabpur itself. A few months prior to that, seven coaches of Allama Iqbal Express had derailed near Hyderabad. Since there were no major casualty figures in any of the incidents, railway authorities apparently did not take them seriously enough to locate the fault, pin down the culprits, and, more importantly, learn their lessons so that such tragedies could be avoided in the future. The result is that in the wake of the latest tragedy, we are again talking of loose nuts and bolts, defective tracks and broken or missing fish plates.

As happens in such cases, the authorities concerned will take their time to figure out the exact cause of the incident. Even then it will have to be seen whether or not they decide to make it public for there has been no dearth of occasions when officials have tried to push the findings of their inquiry under the carpet. Without waiting for the inquiry to be over, however, it will harm no one if Pakistan Railways could start working to overcome the mass of issues related to human negligence and crumbling infrastructure which have together plagued its service for a very long time.
http://www.dawn.com/2007/12/21/ed.htm#2

So who are you trying to fool? Its an open secret the quality of he Railway infrastructure isnt up to standard and maintanence is hardly what it should be… And govt has done very little to alleviate this problem…

Granted this has been festering prob for while, but this govt has only continued the tradition of neglect.
Maybe if we werent a dictatorship, there could be some accountsbility and someone would be there to actually spend the needed amount on fixing the railways.

Re: Aother train derails...

Few months back they were talking about a bullet train... Govt puts out these extravagant white elephants every now and then to distract people from the fact that hardly anything has been done to imporve Paks aging Railway lines.
