im rukz, i recently joined gs afew months back when my wedding was confirmed and since then im addicted to it,its definetly really helpful, it helped my sister with her wedding preps 2years ago and now me
my sister has completed a fashion designing degree in the london institute of fashion and also my mother is a tailor, she sews and takes orders from alot of people in our local area, however i thought perhaps this might be a good opportunity to advertise their capabilities and if anyone wants suits, frocks, dresses etc sewn then they can contact me or pm me.
also if anyone wants for example a suit from gulahmed stitched, then they can pay me for the price of the fabric and just the stitching costs, no need to pay shipping charges.and stiching prices will be reasonable and cost depends on the kaam and design.
the only reason i wont charge shipping charges is because of the nature of my dads work, we have employees travelling to and from pak every month so there will be no need for shipping costs as i wont be paying either so its not right i charge you! and if you live in london then you can just either travel to my house and collect the outfit or if you want i can parcel it and you can reimburse me with the cost.
im quite new to all this, this was just an idea… let me know what you guys think???
is there anything else that i can do that people over here may need??
Great idea. Lots of people want access to a good tailor in the London area.
My mum used to sew our own clothes too. In fact just the other day she was sorting out her ooooold stuff and showed me lots of patterns she used to make jackets, dresses, trousers etc. It's an amazing skill to have!
I'm sure people would love to see some examples of the stitching work and your sister's designing work.
Charges are important too. Like how much would your mum charge for stitching a simple kameez and shalwar?
As well as the fabric, I'm sure people would be interested in being able to choose laces etc to embellish simple suits with. Maybe you can have them bought over with the fabrics too.
yeh im definetely just gonna put up quite afew pics of the suits my mums made in the past.
my mum used to charge abbout £14-16 for a normal suit wich is very much the same as many of the tailors u get siiting in southal shops like punijaab textiles etc
with the lace thing, most of the customers actuali come to my mum in person with the fabric they want stitched and then my mum has a chat with them about what they would like, takes exact measurements and as theres always someone going pak everymonth she gets all sorts of laces, button, gottay etc and broches and she'll just show the customer if they perhaps would want them on the final peice to make it look nice and more fancy.
and for customers who cant actually physically come over then i guess they can show what kapra they want and that can be bought and made.
Great idea you have come up.I'm not too far from you so next time I buy a suit I'll defo keep you in mind.Does your sister charge for designing an outfit..or is the cost absorbed in the making charges?.I used to hate the idwa of paying the same to have a suit made here as what I paid for it,ut sometimes you can't help it.

they are not showing up because you have spaces in the file names or characters that aren't allowed. rename the files without spaces (and pref something short) and upload again. instead of putting the code in a new post, you can just click 'edit post' on any of the existing ones, delete the contents and replace it with the new code.
Just what I was after - the tailors I use in southall are suddenly getting very picky and refusing to post me back my suits (even though I give them a pre paid addressed envelope when I drop off my suits. i guess the effort of going to the post office down the road is too much ) and they keep putting their prices up every time I visit as well.
How do we get in touch with you to send you suits for sewing?

I knw eaxctly what u mean about the southall tailors.my sister got all her clothes from her in laws sewn there and it was terrible,yeah I’m willing to post the suits within the uk. Umm u can message me here and I’ll give out further contact details then aswell as chatting about what you want etc in terms of suit, design, laces and pattern cuts
the purple and pink suit is actually a sari.on my sisters mehndi all the girls bought banarsi saris, some where green n pink, some purple and blue and my little sisters was the above one, purple n pink, and my mum made everyone the above suits out of them… all the girls looked gawjus!!! and so colourful. the way she has cut the sari and done the jors, it doesnt look like a sari and neither can u actuali see the jors which is obviously where the technique and skill comes in!

Hi I have a wedding lengha. I might need to have it taken in as it may be loose by the time i get to london. is this a service you provide? if so how long would it take to get it taken in. The top is a corset like and might also need to be taken in slightly.
