Any experience of Guls Style- Ilford Lane
I got my bridal dress for seema's in green st. Service was good. They delivered on time and gave a free alteration. Price was a bit much but I fell in love with the design :)

Guls Style are dishonest people! He stole both my videos from YouTube and stuck them on his website. Didnt even ask me for permission! Stay Clear people!
I don't see any video on his website :/

Totally agree with you.
Re: Any experience of Guls Style- Ilford Lane
I ordered my bridal from Gul's style quite recently and I had a very good experience at his store. All of his staff were pleasant and he was extremely attentive and professional and this was just at the initial consultation that I had with him. I tried on 4 different outfits at the consultation and he took his time going through each outfit, the cut and style of it, the fabric and the type of kaam.
I looked all over London and also went to Birmingham but I didn't come across a single store which had anything remotely similar to what I was looking for except for Gul. I went back and placed my order with him and he delivered my outfit a month before schedule. I was knocked back when he unzipped the bag- the outfit was simply stunning. The perfect shade of red and the kaam was faultless. Yes his outfits are expensive but you get what you pay for. The material was top quality chiffon and brocade and the kaam was extremely fine and gave off a beautiful elegant sparkle without him using those big huge plastic looking stones. Also the outfit turned out to be much heavier than I expected. He made the necessary adjustments overnight so that I could take my outfit home the next day. He also showed me the different ways to have my dupatta pinned to make the most of it and went through jewellery ideas. I am really looking forward to wearing my outfit.
RDC is across the road and on Saturday I saw a bridal on display for almost the same price as what I paid for mine at Gul's. Seems like RDC have bumped up their prices recently but I personally would not pay that price for an RDC outfit in comparison to Gul.

I think some of Gul's outfits are amazing. I really liked one that was on his fb page, however I was put off by the price he quoted (£3500). Even though I am sure the material he must be using would be top-class, but still I wouldn't want to spend so much on a dress that I would wear for just one day.

I got my wedding day outfit from him. He was great to work with and listened to everything I wanted whilst also giving his input on what would work and look best. If he didn't like something he would clearly say so and that's something that I appreciated rather than him just agreeing with everything I said. He did start off with a ridiculously high price but after bargaining he gave us quite a good discount and threw in a couple of other things on top. My outfit should be here within the next two weeks and I seriously can't wait to see it!! I have enough confidence in him and his designs to know that the end product will be stunning. The embroidery on his outfits is exquisite.
Overall I've had a very good experience with him and would recommend him to other brides if the dress budget allows for it.

Gul is my first choice for wedding lengha. I absolutely love his work and I know no other designer in UK can match up to his work and quality, which reflects on the price. I am having my wedding lengha made from him and am very confident.

^Can’t say I agree, his outfits are pretty beautiful but for his prices, I’d rather go for HSY or Bunto even and get a decent outfit. Plus I don’t like the guy’s attitude, one of my friends who is a bride to be went in his shop to enquire about prices and delivery times, and the first thing he said instead of answering her questions was “do you have money to put down a deposit today?”. After he saw she has a bit of money (she’s pretty loaded) he changed his tune very quickly. I’ve bought a few suits for my mum from there, and an outfit for my sister but not expensive ones, and everytime I have gone there the staff and Gul have looked down their noses at us, no idea what they have to be snobby about.
So no, I’d never get a bridal outfit from there myself. But each to their own.
Re: Any experience of Guls Style- Ilford Lane
I don’t think he intends to come across that way, I guess he is only being honest as there are a lot of time wasters visiting him. I found him to be quite honest and genuine. He understood exactly what I wanted and gave his time to talk through my requirements. I was actually looking to get my wedding dress from KHI (i.e. HSY or Sana Safinas) but decided to go to Gul as I wanted it custom made. So I based this purely on his work, location and convenience. I will be traveling to KHI very soon for a short amount of time but only shopping for mehndi, nikkah and valima outfit.
I think its rude to ask a customer do you have money today to pay a deposit..! It doesnt hurt to speak to a client like that. Theres a shop in birmingham called Khushboos ALOT of women go to him i walked in and while inwas waiting to speak to the guy he was being rude to a customer, i walked out and thought the 2.5k im spending id rather go to someone who will make the effort to speak to their clients properly.
Re: Any experience of Guls Style- Ilford Lane
BellaShabba, we had the exact same issue with Khushboos, the guy is so rude. My sister wanted to try on a dress, and he told her that the colour wouldnt suit her and wouldnt let her try it on. Would not recommend that shop cos Chand is such a stuck up prat
