Re: Any Edward Cullens out there?
I haven't read the twilight series or watched the movies but I have cousins that are mad on him. Can't see the fascination myself but I guess that's because I prefer real life to fantasy lol.

Re: Any Edward Cullens out there?
Hm i think the thread starter was talking about the actual *character *of Edward Cullen not the dude who plays him..becuase he's definitely not all that!

Yeah...I know someone who's exactly like him.
Re: Any Edward Cullens out there?
no man can be as perfect as Edward Cullen ![]()
I think you don’t find these kind of men in real life. Maybe one in a billion?!?
nicely done, J!!
women are such liars, they fool even themselves.. 'personality' my ass!
i was watching this show on what turns men on and what turns women on. men don't care if the girl is dressed like a kaamwali or a model, if she's attractive, she's attractive. women find the same guy attractive or not depending upon if he's in a burger king hat or a banker's suit.
in other words, women are hardwired to be gold-diggers and shallow in materialistic ways beyond just looks. all this emotional nonsense that accompanies them and talk of personality - pure bovine excrement.
women aren't gold-diggers, they just value financial security more than attractiveness.

Oh my God…this thread is hillarious.
Darcy is a twat and so is Colin flipping Firth!
And, aye, what Queer said.
Its all about the money girls. Edward aint that rich, what he saves on food, he spends on flour for the face.
LOL

All discussions aside..... I'm a big vampire-lore fan (have been so for 10 years) and I HATE what Stephanie Meyers has done to the vampire-lore..... butchered it yaar :( Vampires that shine in the sun?!?! Oh please.
Give me an Anne Rice book anytime, she does more justice to vampire-lore. Twilight series is so stupid, I managed to read half of the first book and found it extremely blah. I would recommend reading Kelley Armstrong if you're interested in Paranormal stuff (vampires, werewolves, etc.); her writing style is AWESOME (read No Humans involved, thats my favorite). Or try Karen Marie Moning, she's a great storyteller.... her Dark fever series is mind-blowing.
Stephanie Meyers... EH!!! and that character Edward, double EH!!
What is it about Edward that teens find appealing? That he's like-the-most-beautiful-guy-ever (supposedly) and that he's a blood sucking vampire with a strong will-power. I couldn't find any character-building in that book.... it was all too vague and Bella was the most insipid female I've ever read about... WTH was that?!?

Re: Any Edward Cullens out there?
edward cullens character would be close to impossible to find in real life, on the other hand I also loved Darcy's character and for some reason i believe his character is more possible to find..maybe because he isn't shown as perfect

Darcy conquered his pride. He stood up to family. He stood up to society. He really redeemed himself.
When you read about stories in the L & R forum of guys who pursue relationships....and then chicken out and call it quits because they can't stand up to a disapproving mummy (who is miffed because the girl wasn't HER choice...or isn't the right skin color....or height, etc)............they don't have the courage to stand up for much. They're not Darcys. Not all of them are like that, of course. But.......what made Darcy appealing was not just his looks.....but the air of mystery about him......his ability to set things right after erring.......his ability to reflect....and to stand up for what he wants.
