In the NBC news series, they caught a couple of desi guys as well. One ran away covering his face with his umbrella, another was a sardar-ji. This is not just limited to the west or America. In lawless Pakistan, I am certain many children are sexually abused and the abuse goes unreported.

desi pedophiles are as common as this happening in the west. Only problem is our desi people are too ashmed or embaraced to aknowledge it. Or either they just don't care that much....they just think Jo Ho Gaya So Ho Gaya.
At least in the West it is considered a henios crime....people don't look at it same way in Pakistan and India.

I shall tend to disagree with the above. I think percentage wise, the number will be way less. I have never heard communities discovered in the East, as they do get in the West. Like the recent one in France. Easterns don't have as much Sadoistic, Machoistic tendencies as they have in the West. We are way softer than the Western societies. No BDSM or bullsh^&s like that. According to studies, More than 70% of the sex-tourists coming to the Far East are Westerners (Including Ozzies and NZlanders). Then comes Japan and other countries. I will strongly disaggree with above...

No disprespect to our “clergy”, but what we saw in US right after 9-11 (clergy/church sued by men for …) happens in our backyard as well. It may not be as “rampant” as we learn about here thru media but all the diseases you find here can be found there as well… the “boundaries” are diminishing, we are very close to “catching up” with the west

what they do openly in foreign countries is done behind back doors in our country. You are right the percentage is not much compare to what they are doing overseas...but there is still a lot hidden and people don't talk about it. Some stupid parents are not even aware of danger of leaving their child with some other man. Mind you, these pedophiles are usually not strangers...sometimes they are your relatives which you trust with everything.

You dont’ hear abt Pakistanis doing this, because pakistanis dont talk about it; like Jal pari said, a lot of ppl have hte “jo hogaya, so hogaya” mentality, or the classic line “yeh paksitan hai, idhar aisay hota hai”, people don’t care or they have a twisted sense of justice that says that the one who gets raped/molested had done something wrong, it was her fault etc..
Witchy maybe desis won’t go for whipping or spanking as a way to get off sexually, but what’s worse, punishing a woman for getting raped and abused or two consenting adults doing whatever they want in the bedroom with each other? Maybe therre’s more western pedofiles going to the east for child prostitutes, but what of those easterners kidnapping and supplying those girls?

Most of us are not aware of how common this really is in Pakistan, only its hidden i personally know many victims. There should be some kind of awareness program in pakistan to help parents understand and save thier kids from this. Sadly it's the people you trust your kids with are the ones who exploit your trust!

Have you not heard about the Hari Krishnas and what they did to many of the kids in their schools during the 60s and 70s? It happened in India. The kids were assaulted or raped by older desi men who were supposed to be looking after them.
Also, that man who killed himself a few years ago in Pakistan after being caught by the police ... he raped all those boys and then killed them with acid.
It happens and it happens a lot. Like many others have said, people in our community tend to turn a blind eye to it.

Sara! Where did I mentioned that it happens in Western societies only. I only sincerely believe (and saw) that it is not as much as it is in the West. Off course, lots of things get hidden under the closets in our society, but still there is a lot less aggression compared to West.
Kidnapping and supplying children is a completely different type of crime. It exists because rich perverted Westerns visit these countries for such reasons. I just arrived back from Thailand after attending a seminar there and it was heart-wrenching and disgusting to see these dirty Westerners coming there in hordes for such purposes. These people who manage to kill the tears of these children, should receive punishments in the extreme.

These things do happen, and I will give a real life example. This was in Lahore in a masjid during namaaz. A few rows back was a small boy maybe 8/9 and while we were all knelt down in sajda..a man came up behind the boy and pulled his shalwar down and tried to sodomize him. All we could hear was a loud scream and crying..so obviously everyone turned around to see what happened and there was this man who ran away. Several people chased him and he unfortunatley got away. I'm sure if he was caught he would have been killed or severely maimed, but the police weren't called, so as far as statistics go with desi men, in south asian countries..i doubt any type of records are kept.
