I live in USA and have fallen in love with a man from pakistan…ppl don’t understand but I wondered if there was a support group that I could find to be part of to help our marriage be strong and help us to face the challenges together …
I’m taking my Shahada the day before we marry which is in just a few weeks…his family accepts me completley and my mother also is accepting although hesitantly…I just need support from those who understand and can help me find the GOOD stories of these relationships not the bad…after all its only the bad thats newsworthy unfortunately

I always knew that Pakistani guys need a support group to get married.
Joke aside, if you have support of both families, you are all set. We have many Pak/American couples on GS. MamaOf3 is a Caucasian lady married to a Pakistani guy. 3 beautiful kids, very strong family values. There are few Pakistani ladies on this forum who are married to American guys.

Welcome to Islam. Just remember that you are becoming Muslim to Allah's sake and not for your husband.
Every couple has their story. Don't worry about others, concentrate on your role in your marriage. Ask Allah to bless your marriage and give you both the power to follow Islam properly. At the end of the day it's only Allah who can ease your concerns and put calmness in your heart.
Wish you all the best in the future. There are always turbulence in a flight but enjoy the journey together.

Support of both families is all you need and as TLK mentioned, talk to MamaOf3 and other such couples for any specific problem related to such couples!

yes im taking my shahada because i found truth and peace in islam he was just the cornerstone of showing me...he would take me as a christian woman but now that i know the truth i cant hide from Allah anymore..which feels so good now evthing makes sense...

**eabbas, **my maternal uncle got married to a lovely Spanish lady when they were both very young. She coverted to Islam. Mash'Allah they've been happily married for nigh on 15 years. Trust me, happy endings rarely make for interesting stories which is why you only hear the bad stuff. But in my opinion, if you work hard at keeping your relationship strong, Allah will do the rest.
If the families are accepting, that's the biggest hurdle out of the way. And on top of that, you've accepted Islam. What a beautiful way to start what will be a great life together, Insh'Allah.

I have no doubt that Allah had evthing to do with this man and myself meeting...Allah has blessed us both and I know in my heart that we face some challenges but in the end we make eachother so happy full of respect and love...INSHALLAH we will have a happy life n Allah will be the center :)

You are lucky that you have got support from both sides. Now the whole responsibility of working it out comes on you two. If you both have good understanding, both are committed and u love each other, then i dont see that there will be any prob that will stay a prob forever.

ty all for the well wishes and understanding ... both of us have shared tragic pasts but i know in my heart this is the man for me and he knows i am the wife he was praying for all this time...it just took the right time for us to meet so that we could use our pasts as a cornerstone for our future...we both share the same views in our religion...and we both share the same family values and understanding of ones spouse...n while my mother and even my brother can accept it my sister wont but i dont live my life to please her and she doesnt pay my way thru life nor does she control my heart...im sure I may lose her for a while but in the end she will see how good and faithful this man is and how much he respects and loves me and i think eventually she will come to accept it...as for his family...omg i couldnt ask for one better...his whole family mother father brother sisters n their husbands and his aunts n uncles are sooo happy and i am more accepted with his family than i ever have been before by anyone! I think just by that alone we will have a strong committed relationship and a lovely life...ty for all ur comments!!!!
