I personally thing this is a non serious kind of statement. It's the prerogative of the army and state to respond to terrorists, if everyone starts retaliating on their own we will have a banana republic where the writ of the state is confined to presidential palaces.

Why does he need to divert criticism towards himself while clearly ths issue does not concern him? I can guarantee you the government does not have guts to go for NWA operations, but by issuing statements he is bailing the government out while eroding his political base. Win win situation for PMLN government. If he stays on the sidelines and PMLN does not go for all out operations, that would expose them once for all.

I can guarantee you the government does not have guts to go for NWA operations, but by issuing statements he is bailing the government out while eroding his political base. Win win situation for PMLN government. If he stays on the sidelines and PMLN does not go for all out operations, that would expose them once for all.

I would mostly agree with this assessment.
Responding to the Islamabad session court bombings today, Imran appeared to be putting the entire blame on the US for fomenting terror in the country. At a time when clues are leading the investigators to the Punjabi Taliban and the Ghazi Force, Imran appeared to have already conducting the investigation, fought a case and sentenced the US for unleashing terror in Islamabad. Imran is getting insanely unreasonable by the day. He has become a suicide bomber against his own party which will have to pay electorally for his posture vis-a-vis America. He has certainly overtaken even the likes of Munawar Hasan and Fazluar Rahman in anti-US rhetoric.
At times I feel he is reeling from intense schizophrenia. He is acting like a shield to protect the government from fallout of terror issue, receiving and then deflecting all the blows to his own party without even giving it any thought whatsoever. Imran has already conceded a lot of political territory to the Noon League and the PPP by leaving his own space to defend the TTP from everything to anything.
I am not sure if the damage he has already caused himself and to his party is repairable or not.

That applies to every party. Democracy starts outside the parties. That's not the problem.
The issue is that Imran has penned up himself in an anti-Americanism hutch which is a typical and exclusive domain of miserably-failed religious parties. No mainstream party has ever condemned the US openly. At the most you use "teesri qoowat" type of abstruse reference for domestic consumption, but anyone knowing his business will not open up so mindlessly against a country which makes things happen around the world, unless you trade in religious sentiments and want to cash in on fundamentalism. But again, anyone serious with his politics knows that anti-American does not sell on polling booths.
