The question is do you think army is better than democracy and due to all the qualities you associate with army give them right to kick the constitution of Pakistan and democratic governments? Why people are talking against the army is not because they lack in professional qualifications but due to continuously ruining political and judicial institutions in Pakistan. I still remember in late sixties, when even a junior commissioned officer did enter in any civil government office, he got the salute and proper respect. What happened to this respect is well known to every one. First sign of this shift came when 95000 surrendered before Indian general and more than half of the country parted away in 1971 due to stupidity of a dictator.

UTC, when i saw the title of thread i thought you will remind us of Shuhadaa of 1965, or 1971, or of Kargil or Aziz Bhatti or Rashd Munhaas.

I dunno why you chose instead to post the first 4 points which is nothing but crap. Making a summer sault in dirty ond at mid-night just coz ur senior wanted to have ur arse, is just stupid. This abuse happens at many places. In russia a young man lost lower half of his body from gangrene coz his senior army officers thought out of blue to tie him to a chair so hard that blood supply to lower half of body was cut off. We have heard stories of death of couple of young recruits in army, though press has not been allowed to publish it in Pakistan.

Secondly, people cross Pakistan so respect the army, and much more in past. But over involvement in civilian affairs does not do any good to army’s image.

Thirdly, army men are not the only ones who under go tough trainings. Go and see the life of anintern in governments hospitals, they work 36 hours at stretch with no sleep/rest twice per week on call, and on weekend calls they work 56 hours at stretch. Despite that they have the presence of mind to tell you about each and every patient on their ward without having to look into patents chart. This goes on into residency that spans atleast 5 years, or if you are into surgical sub-specialities for 8 years. And when they are called upon despite being awake for 50 hours they go and more difficult job than yelling Pakistan Zindabad with sleeping mind.

And next time you cuss poor people of Pakistan, plz remember, you dont’ have to under go
1- Stand at roadside for hours waiting for someone to hire you for Rs 100 for 8-12 hours work.
2-Yor can pnly afford to give half a dress to your kids, one child gets a shalwar and other a kameez
3-A constable may slap you whenever he feels like it and you can’t even complain
4-If you become sick, all you get is see a doctor and nurse and fluids in hospital, you are asked to bring medications that you cannopt afford and then you run around offices to get Zakat fund
5-In blisterung heat of june, ur kids do not even have decent shoes. There aircondition is to drink water from a mutka. And if they get cholera they’ll likely die in a district hospital.
The list goes on and on

We should realize that democracy is not digestable by muslims! The only democratic muslims country is Malaysia! And this was the major resason behind creation of Pakistan as well. Muslims and democracy are the two poles apart.

I am all for not abusing anybody, including army. But will disagree with many of the so called 'sacrifices' listed here.

1. Every army in the world goes through such rigorous exercise and discipline - drills etc.

2. We may like to think of romantic notions of patriotism and heroic deeds and that is true of a small group but the fact is a majority of those joining the army (all armies, not just Pakistan) do so because that is the easiest avenue for them. This is a hard thing to say, and yes it sounds insulting and I don't mean it that way at all, but the soldiers are recruited from poorest sections who cannot and do not have anyother alternative.

3. What is strange about the Pakistan army is that they seem not satisfied with being an army for a country and keep taking over the govt and swindling the people of their income and lands.

So next time someone wants to abuse the army, don't abuse but don't try to make heros out of the crooks running it either

I mean even parents have to let the kids go--so they could be mature and stuff.
But our army can't see that happeneing.

Well don’t get me started on lawyers now.
They couuld produce ONE MAN in last 60 years “Iftikhar chaudhary”

One the other hand army have millions on real men.
On institution in pakistan have men with backbones other then army.
So naturally army earned all the respect of pakistani people.

Finaly this guy Chief justice ifkhtikhar chaudhary stud againest corruption and now “EdleeA” will have some pespect too.
