Im confused as to why an all out attack on Karachi airport did not result in suspension of flights, and a few shots fired at Peshawar airport resulted in the suspension of 3 airlines. Argument can be made that in the case of Peshawar, an aircraft was hit...but then again, in Karachi, aircrafts were not far from being hit either.
Becuz in Peshawar passengers were injured and killed. Its an airlines' responsibility to make sure its passengers are safe till they leave. They'll be in big trouble if there's any causality within the plane.
They also need to balance it out against revenue. Most likely more passengers fly into Karachi than into Peshawar. They want to be seen responsible, just enough so it does not affect their profits.

In Karachi, airliners and passengers were as much, if not more at risk as in peshawar. I think it was a symbolic + financial decision, otherwise security has been an issue in Pakistan for what seems like ages.
The terrorists have finally succeeded in their objectives by having international flights to Peshawar halted. This would create problems only for the people of their own areas. Such is the level of intellect they have. The reason of halting the flights to Peshawar comes from the fear that the descent of flights near Peshawar start from tribal areas.
With the attacks on country's airports, they have proven that they are enemies of Pakistan itself. Whatever talk they had about America, India, etc. was nothing but BS. It was meant to dupe common people in supporting their terrorist activities against our own country.
But now they are exposed totally. Not even aale Sharif and Imran dare call them 'apnay log' or say any cr** like 'we are fighting America's war'.
This operation is all thanks to Raheel Sharif. Otherwise aale Sharif and Imran would still not have taken any action against them.
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have asked the political authorities of Khyber Agency to arrest Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants involved in the attack on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft at Peshawar airport earlier this week.**
The police identified commander Shahid of TTP from Dara Adamkhel for being responsible for the attack and suggested that head money of Rs10 million should be announced for his arrest.
There is one TTP commander arrested from Sulemankhel and** peshawar police was as usual very quick to claim he was involved in airport attack**.
Good news: Qatar airways is to resume flights from/to peshawar from tomorrow.
Unfortunately that is true about any police force (at least in Pakistan), even our army does that... right after some terrorism incident our army will launch a plane-bombing of some FATA area and claim that 'mastermind of that terrorism activity has been killed' :(
