If you want to look at this from a religous stand point, then God himself must have imposed those sanction and eventually destroyed the Taliban to punish them for their evil.. The destruction of the Bamiyan Buddhas was an extension of that evil.

so, basically you are implying that infact the buddhas were destroyed by God through the Talibans - which I am sure all of us can agree is true, and so is the one that got dynamite in Swat, then what’s all the fuss about
