Ok I often pass by this board when I go to the hospital. Now usually if Im going to a friends, or shopping, uni – I rarely notice what is on this board. But when Im visiting my dad at the hospital or going with him for check ups and so on, I always seem to read what is written on it.
Now there are always some little quotes, saying, verses or what you call it, from the Bible . They’re really quite nice sayings, and I find them so comforting. I always think of them in an Islamic sense — they’re usually about God.
i went to catholic school for 12 years, read bible passages..never had any problem with em, never found anything to be contradictory to Islam, regarding morals, values and ethics..
well all the Prophet’s p.b.u.them bought the same message, it was their people who made changes in the actual context and changed their designations…e.g Jesus came as a Prophet pbuh, but assumed that he is son of God…
So it shouldn’t be a surprise if christianity or islam ends up saying the same thing..
MQ, i think of this too often, nothing wrong of thinking of good things, and as we know the injeel and torah may be corrupted now butr they were originally the word of Allah, and thgere's still some level of truth left in them.
Thank you, glad somebody had some sense! I mean Im perfectly aware that there is nothing wrong in good words… I just dont know how far I should go into all this. Dont want to be believing in something that might end up being something other than I think!
rally and mal1k— the moral being I find words in the Bible that are nice. Rest assured I dont plan on converting, no matter how badly matsui might want me to.
My heart and soul belong to Islam. Im not one to be fooled easily. I am not confused, I know that the Bible had been altered, but I want to know if there is anything wrong in believing in certain words that are agreeable and the same as Islam.
SheikhSahab – Its very nice of you to forget madhanee and your self imposed ban, unfortunately Im not touched.I have no issues with Chritianity - Islam is my faith. I simply was wondering what people have to say about words other than those of the Quran.
Sara— Thats besides the point. You can ignore or not give importance to the prayers at the Catholic schools. I am asking whether its alright to take comfort in words from the Bible and so on.
matsui — if my brain is muddled yours then never came into being. Im sure you would love to hear my confessions but you shall not be so blessed in this life. :o
MQ, if you read a nice piece of poetry that comforted you... would you question it?
If you find verses/quotes from the bible comforting.. then thats great.. i dont see how theres anythign wrong with that.. just take it as God's way of telling you "its ok... im here"
