Following the deadly attack on child rights activist Malala Yousafzai, another schoolgirl from Swat, Hina Khan, is claiming to have received threats from the Taliban for speaking against them, reported Dawn.com on Monday.
According to the report, the family is worried because no steps have been taken to provide protection to the girl despite several requests for security.
Hina, a student of grade 11, had publicly denounced the acts of the Taliban in 2009. She also held a press conference in 2008 after she got to know that the Taliban were becoming further intolerant towards girls seeking education.
Hina told Dawn.com on Monday that she had left Swat due to security concerns but she fears that she won’t be able to attend school even in Islamabad as she has been continuously receiving threats.
The girl’s father Raitullah Khan told the English daily that his wife Farhat, a social worker, has also started receiving threatening calls since August this year. A few days ago, Raitullah found a red cross painted over his gate but he removed it only to find it re-painted again the next day, the report said.
The next day, he claimed, that he received a call which said that Hina will be next after Malala.
Farhat said that she has personally contacted Interior Minister Rehman Malik and has sent an application to the interior ministry but has received no response. She claimed that the family had moved to Islamabad in 2006 after receiving threats and had been changing residences in Islamabad frequently.
Re: Another schoolgirl from Swat faces threats from Taliban
Pakistan has produced some very brave women, from Fatima Jinnah to Benazir Bhutto, from Arfa Karim to Malala Yousufzai. All these women stood up for Women’s rights in Pakistan, and created a positive and strong image of Pakistan on world stage. Today another brave young Pakistani girl, Hina Khan, is under threat for standing strong and raising her voice against Taliban atrocities. We have seen the whole world, including Pakistanis from all sections of the society, stand up against these ruthless attacks especially on Malala just recently. Now the TTP cowards have sent threats against Hina, too. It is time for all to stand together and protect the little “Malalas” and “Hinas” all over the world. The message to the terrorists should be unanimous from all sections of society: we won’t tolerate this anymore.

^^^ You can't compare Siddiqui to these poor school girls attacked by Taliban for going to school. Like it or not she is a convicted terrorists and belongs where she is...in jail.
Re: Another schoolgirl from Swat faces threats from Taliban
^^^ Topi drama? I guess you don't know working of American justice system b/c I can assure that she wasn't convicted in a kangaroo court. Btw, Raymond Davis was release by Pakistani govt/court under blood money deal which is legal under Pakistani laws. Why blame the US for that?
Re: Another schoolgirl from Swat faces threats from Taliban
You forgot Aafia Siddiqui...
What about Aafia Siddiqui the terrorist?
Maybe Khalid Sheikh was high when he spills out her name as sleeper cell? oh was it coincidence that she marry Ammar Al-Baluchi who distribute money among 9/11 hijackers?
It was coincidence she was questioned by FBI in 2002 for her purchase of 10000$ worth of night vision equipment, body armor and other stuff to help land in heaven for eternity?
Aafia Siddiqui issue was used and played by politicians of Pakistan for personal gains, that's the reality. Hopefully she will not come out alive from maximum security prison. Happy living.

The not-so-Kangaroo courts let crimes of marines pass, they only get 2-3 months of jailtime for killing harmless civilians, justice, really?
Re: Another schoolgirl from Swat faces threats from Taliban
I am sorry but I have to be on Shamraz and Firenze's side here. I am not trying to get into whether the trial of Aafia was right or wrong, but whatever the case maybe, how does that make Aafia a brave woman? Why do we put her in line with Hina or Malala or Benazir of Fatimah Jinnah?
Re: Another schoolgirl from Swat faces threats from Taliban
When Malala was attacked the TTP apologists started the propaganda that the army or the govt attacked her in order to start army action against them. It did not materialise, so obviously something must have gone wrong, now the govt and the army are threatening another girl to give them another excuse to start military action against them. TTP never attacks women or innocent children, its all evil propaganda against them.
Re: Another schoolgirl from Swat faces threats from Taliban
To be honest, i won't include Aafia Siddiqui in the list because she was stupid enough to get herself in trouble.
I am not convinced that she is innocent so hopefully NO ONE in pakistan considers her as a role model.
One thing i would admit though, Americans are extremely stupid and arrogant to keep her in custody when there is no way on earth she could pose any threat to them anymore so why not not prove that they are friends and release her as goodwill gesture? If they can get a trained CIA murderer Raymond Davis released then why not Aafia?

LOl, I am sure that you know that she is not in jail because of being a terrorist, but because of snatching the gun of a federal officer and opening the fire on other officers with that gun, when under interrogation.
