who know if she was really sick? This world has a lot of people who play the ill-game just to get money. I have a friend, his father does that. And God do I hate this B A S T A R D
I think it's rather stupid of insurance company. Photographs showing her having "good time" at bars is not a proof of her mental recovery. She was not claiming for PHYSICAL disability like loss of limbs or something that it can be proven false with pictures. Insurance company should have hired an independent shrink to assess her mental health, before making a decision. What they expected her to do? lock herself in basement to prove that she was unfit for work!

I never saw depressed people having a good time at a bar. I saw them committing suicide!!!
I mean, you don't see these people going to a bar at all. They lock themselves up in their dark cold room and have suicidal thoughts. If there is no end of depression in sight, they commit suicide.
Well, going happily to a bar and drinking till the Ambulance arrives is a half suicide, too.
Well, that's exactly why she's got those leaves and off days, 'cos she works perhaps for a high profile company... and people with brains will do anything to get them going...
But then, lets be realistic, as i am unsure what kind of PICTURES have made the prosecutor to label her as very happy... so without having a look at those, me no say nuffin'.
She should've known that. I refrain from posting personal stuff in the net. We had a documentary here in Germany awhile ago. This documentary showed how easy your Boss or future Boss can find out infromation about you. I just put my name in google and say DAMN IT, my poetry is still linked after hmmm 6-7 years with all my personal information.
They showed pictures of people partying who in the end lost their job, because your Boss saw it. They showed one guy who pretented not to drink, but he turned out to be a heavy drinker. The Boss found pictures of this guy every weekend in different Bars and fired him, because the guy used to come late to work or took one, two days off saying I have headacche, stomache, fever etc.

agreed... insurance companies need a reason, any reason to cut down benefits.
Anyways, coming back to the thread topic, yes, everyone should be careful on facebook and any other sites where their personal information is posted. When I'm with company, and I know that pictures might be posted on fb, I make sure to let the pictures person know that I do not want my pictures to appear on fb. It might seem rude, but I don't know what privacy settings the poster is using, and who in the poster's group of friends has access to the content.

untrue, someone can have severe depression yet still try to enjoy life, go through the motions etc, whether it makes a difference or not is debatable. Depending on the severity of depression it may impact their ability to work, ability to work with others, ability to deal with work deadlines, stress etc. People can be depressed enough to damage careers, family life, yet could have days where they are doing well.
lastly, there is something called bipolar disorder, aka manic-despressive concept, where a person can ping pong between mania and depression.
