Printing money can help overcome
loadshedding, suggests Gilani

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Wednesday suggested that the government should print currency notes and pour capital into the electricity sector in order to overcome loadshedding, Express News has reported.
During the federal cabinet session, Gilani said, “We can print currency notes and pour capital in the electricity sector in order to overcome loadshedding”.
Gilani’s suggestion surprised ministers present in the session, however, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, while endorsing the prime minister’s statement, said that the “2-3% rise in inflation could be overcome within a few years” and that there was no problem in printing money.
Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar could not answer a question asked 3-4 times in the session about the capacity of the electricity produced by Wapda.
The government is already printing money at a breakneck speed (over 2 billion daily) and no one seems to be bothered about the flood of inflation it has already brought in, and the more devastation it will create in the future.
If printing money is as harmless a way of dealing with issue as Rehman Malik suggests, than why not print one billion rupees for each family in the country and become the richest country in the world?
Are they aware of even the ABC of economy? :bummer:

Someone should have seen him talking to the media today. He laughed away all serious questions including opening of Nato routes and power shortfall. He was cracking jokes on every single thing.
When it comes to non-seriousness and stupidity, sky is the limit for the PM.
Gillani should be awarded PhD degree for being a true chawal.
Given his tremendous and untiring work for the last 4-n-half years, doesn't he deserve one PhD for every year? So it should be basically 4.5 PhDs for the PM. Kindly consider it sympathetically :D
PM’s geniuses are rubbing off on me. I have discovered a breakthrough whereby we will get rid of power shortage for ever. And the beauty is that we can make as much electricity from oil as we like.
So here is the idea which is based on Gilani’s formula of printing money to end circular debt issue.
Instead of facing circular debt issue every now and then and making huge payments to IPPs, government should issue licences to IPPs to print currency so that they print the required money at the end of every month and then there won’t be any issue of circular debt ever. :is:
