What happened here, it seems like someone has got the ministers and officials of the Hajj departments by their balls and made to do corruption in such a manner which has no precedent.
I “Believe” this is another conspiracy against the elected govt. otherwise why should a govt and officials of muslim country would want to dis-comfort guest of Allah All Mighty…
It is also came into the knowledge that the group of Parliamentarians, Press ( specially Jang & Geo) were talking about it well before the time, but some agencies who didn’t want the PPP govt to succeed, didn’t allow the prime-minister and his army of cabinet to take any decision ( normally cabinet and prime-minister do not show any interest in the matters where issue is related to the common man) and paid one or two ministers and officials some hefty amounts…
It is said that our beloved Prime Minister appointed Rao Shakeel ( who has GOOD name in corruption) as Hajj Director…
Again, PPP is party of saints, most of the party workers/ministers/officials can’t even spell corruption nor does they know that what kind of monster corruption is… can anyone post some details of this incident… a new conspiracy against PPP…
^^ Apparently, Haji has been looted by the Govt officials of Pakistan... they were over charged and didn't get facilities as they suppose to get during their stay in KSA/ Makkah... and it is being repeatedly said by the media and other politicians well before hajj time that this time it is going to be a mass corruption.. now Azam Khan Swati Minister of something something is blaming Haimd Sayeed Kazmi as a man responsible for the controversy...
that is what i know, i am also looking for more info on the issue
With reference to Hamid Saeed Kazmi I would say Yes. If he has an iota of consciousness he must resign. I am residing in Saudi Arabia and have performed Hajj this year and am a witness to the plight of Pakistani Hajis in at least in one cam...p. I performed Haj with a saudi haj service provider. Our camp, in mina, was 11/214 and right in front of us were some under construction tents. When we reached there my attention was caught by a group of people in that under construction and incomplete camp chanting 'Zardari Murdabad". Upon inquiry it transpired that these Hajjis were dumped there without any food, water and without any body there to take care of them. If anyone was to Mina he would know what it means to have no water and food available in camps. Next five days I saw them repeatedly coming to the fence of our camp and begging for water, food and tea. Some people in our camp tried to provide them with water bottles but a consistent supply was not possible as every camp gives priority to it own inhabitants. They even offered money for water but due to the peculiar environment in Mina it is not possible to help anyone for a longer period of time unless one can help himself. Then somehow we twice tried to cook food in our camp and give it to them.
I'm sure all of them were very honorable and well provided people in Pakistan but thanks to hajj ministry they were rendered beggars in Mina.
This is just one incident to which I'm witness. Now Hamid Saeed may not be directly involved in corruption but he's at the helm of the affairs and he must accept responsibility and resign.
One must also ask him the question if he and his family performed hajj at his own expense or at the expense of the tax payer and if at the expense of the tax payer then which sharia allowed him to do so?
“You are just Punjab/Establishment/Enemy of Pakistan”
Hanibal you waiting for that reply right??
P.S.. It was the friggin “parliamentary committee” which submitted the report on 2nd September indicating the fraud and the possible problems for Hajis…and the also said it on the floor of the house…
i am so use to this, just waiting for somebody to say it...
u r right, even Kamran Khan had highlighted the issue in his program in GEO... remember there are reasons why Kamran Khan was declared a agent of India and Israel... only RAW and MOSSAD and can pay a person who expose such corruption of the such saint govt in the media...
anyway it seems that at that time in August and September, Prime Minister and president was too busy to count the money they made from this particular corruption... and one more thing which is even more strange... the "Establishment" was working on this conspiracy from 20 odd years.... as all the culprits are somehow from Multan and are deemed close associate of PM Gillani....
Religious Affairs Minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi is a follower of the Barelvi school of thought, whereas one of his detractors, the chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on religious affairs, Maulana Mohammad Qasim of the JUI-F, is a follower of the Deobandi school of thought.
Maulana Qasim was also head of a five-member review committee of the two houses of parliament which, after a visit to Saudi Arabia sometime ago, accused the Director General of Haj Directorate, Rao Shakeel, of financial corruption and recommended his immediate replacement.
Mr Shakeel, who is presently in the custody of FIA, in turn accused Mr Kazmi of corruption and bribery at a press conference in Lakki Marwat on Sunday.
The acrimony between the two schools of thought further came out into the open when JUI-F Senator Azam Swati accused Mr Kazmi of having been involved in corruption while making Haj arrangements.
According to sources, Mr Kazmi complained to the prime minister that the JUI-F leaders had ganged up against him because of his Barelvi background.
They said that after joining the coalition government at the centre, the JUI-F had sought the religious affairs ministry, but it went to Mr Kazmi who was elected from Rahimyar Khan on a PPP ticket.
Since then Mr Kazmi has not been in the good books of JUI-F lawmakers.
The JUI-F lawmakers decided to take him on when Mr Kazmi refused to accept the Maulana Qasim-led committee’s recommendations about Haj directorate in Saudi Arabia.
Talking to Dawn, a former religious affairs secretary said it was quite surprising to see parliamentarians issuing statements against each other even though none of them had anything to do with Haj arrangements.
Accepting the idea that the verbal duel between the two federal ministers was the result of their sectarian and political differences, the former secretary, who had looked after Haj arrangements for five years, said the religious affairs ministry had always been the most sought after assignment for all religious political parties because of their specific constituencies.
He said the entire responsibility of the mess lay on incumbent religious affairs secretary Agha Sarwar Qazalbash and he should have solid evidence to shift the blame on Rao Shakeel.
^^ What ever this kazmi guy says, how can he explain what had happened in Makkah and Madina??? he and the govt is guilty and they should admit it.. the Deo-bandies cannot plan all this.. this Kazmi is an Idiot, who 1st tried to blame Saudi Govt. and now he is trying to play religious card to further complicate the issue...
as far as Multan is concerned, all the key players in this corruption are from Multan and have closed relationship with Gillani the chor..
^^ i agree, infact there would be some who would declare the govt & administration is innocent and shall call it conspiracy against democracy..fouzia wahab comes to mind
Situation of pakistani haji's was very very bad. I personally performed hajj and one of the affected camp ( 5500 persons) were present in front of our camp . It was really very sad to see these haji's coming to our camp asking for water ... . I talked to some of them and felt very sad for them. What ever we can do .. we did.
I sure if the ppl responsible for this will be punished in next world if not here. Pleading of these haji's will not be unanswered
