And how can they call themselves Muslims

Bihari Babu… I don’t get it… are you trying to beignorant or my english is too hard for you to understand… I asked you asimple question and you start beating around bushes as usual… Now lets get it straight…
All i asked was the ayat i quoted from quran

“Whenthey meet those who believe, they say: We Believe;' but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say: We are really
with you, we (were) only jesting [2:14].”

This ayat says not all of the followers were pious. ok now you yourself said sahabas are not masoom nor you provided any hadith that Prophet asked us to follow their sunnah now see what does Abu Bakr has to say about himself

Ibn Sa`d in his al-Tabaqat (Leiden, 1322), iii, part 1, p.129 reports that in asermon that Abu Bakr delivered after taking charge of the caliphate, hedeclared, “I am only a man, and I am not better than any of you. So obeyme when I go straight and correct me when you see me deviate. You should knowthat (at times) I am overwhelmed by a devil, so when you see me in a state ofrage keep away from me.” Similar statements by him have been reported by:

al-Tabari in his Ta’rikh (Cairo, 1357), ii, 440;
Ibn Qutaybah in al-'Imamah wa al-siyasah (Matbaat al-Futuh al-'Adabiyyah,1331), 6; al-Haythami in Majma al-zawa’id (1352), v, 183;
al_Muttaqi in Kanz al-`ummal (Hyderabad, 1312), ii, 136;
and others.

Ok basedon these justifications ..What makes you think we should follow their sunnah. How come following people who can be overwhelmed by devil, who are not masoom is not bidat that doesn’t make sense to me.

Read this hadeeth, what ProphetMohammad P.B.U.H said about some of his companions..

Al-Bukhari narrates similar traditions on the authority of Hudhayfah (no 1435), Abd Allah (no.1435), Sahl ibn Sad (no.1442), Abu Said alÂKhudri (no 1442), Ibn Abbas (no.1442), Abu Hurayrah (no1443), and Asma’ bint Abi Bakr (no. 1449) in “Kitab al-ruqaq”, aswell as else where in “Kitab al tafsir” and “Kitab bad’al-khalq”. The same tradition with various wordings is also recorded byMuslim, Abu Dawud, al-Tirmidhi, alÂNasa’i, Ibn Majah, Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal intheir books (as well as Imam Malik in alÂMuwatta’, “Kitab alÂtaharah”,hadith no.28) from several Companions. Imam Malik reports the followingtradition in his alÂMuwatta’, “Kitab alÂjihad”, hadith no.32:

"TheProphet (S) said concerning the martyrs of Uhud, “I shall bear witness forthem (i.e. their faith).” Thereupon Abu Bakr said, “O Messenger ofAllah, aren’t we their brethren, who embraced Islam like them and did jihad likethem?” The Prophet (S) replied, “Yes, but I don’t know what you willdo after me …”

AI-Bukhari in his Sahih (Kitab al-ruqaq, hadithno. 1441) narrates the following mutawatir tradition of the Prophet (S)from Anas ibn Malik:

AI-Bukharireports from Muslim ibn Ibrahim, from Wuhayb from Abd al Aziz, from Anas thatthe Prophet (S) said: "A group of my Companions will be brought to me onthe Pond (of alÂKawthar) and as soon as I recognize them they shall bedragged away. I would say, (‘God! Aren’t they) my Companions?’ (God) would say,'You don’t know what they did after you.

Now would you say following them is not a bidat.

All you said about Hazrat Ali doing Taqqiyah…I am not sure because I can’t get hands onyour references but yeah read thisarticle it gives references from Quran and instances where Prophet’s have done taqiyyah

http://www.al-islam.org/shiism/10.htm
Also read this site which compares hypocrisy to taqeeyah
http://www.al-islam.org/encyclopedia/chapter6b/3.html
Now will you say people who do taqqiyah are all coward?
By claiming Hazrat Ali doing taqiyyah, if you are trying to imply for him not fighting his right that Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H. gave to him at ghadeer
www.al-islam.org/ghadir
you should read what does he have to say about it.

.

Are you trying to imply all sahaba were pious and like ahley-bait were willing to sacrifice their life in the way of Allah… Brother Maula Ali he was there everytime when islam needed him… no matter if it’s the bed of Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H at the night of hijrat. battle of badr, battle of khandaq or Khyber and Uhud. Now lets look the battle of uhud.. there were some shabas to whom the life was more important… and they ran in mountains… even though Prophet was calling them…and then a few of them became caliph… now won’t you say they were some cowards… and if they can run from the battle fields leaving the Prophet and Hazrat Ali A.S. how good caliph will they be and how good will it be to follow their sunnah.

Yeah Imam Hussain sacrificed his life and did Jehad in the way of Allah and so did other members of Ahley-Bait whenever islam needed but lets give a brief look into it..

After the death of Prophet Mohammd P.B.U.H. rather then following the leader Imam elected by Prophet.. people started following the rulers and Islam came in the hands of rulers and with that people like Yazeed came into power and Imam Hussain didn’t want to give him alligance because he knew what kinda person he is and what would he have done if Islam would have come in the hands of such greedy person.. And who were fighting against Imam Hussain weren’t those muslims who were following their so called Khaleefa. Don’t you see what has been happening to islam after it came in the hands of the rulers. What did yazeed do with the family of Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H. There were only 72 people who got shaheed with Imam Hussain including his six month year old son and you know how many so called muslims were there in yazeed army

Now let me quote a part of the Ayat I posted earlier

..And Allah only wishes to remove all abomination from you, ye members of the Family, and to make you pure and spotless.

Now would you tell me whats the definition of Masoom???
