Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

Anyone here taken a makeup course from them?!? Care to share the 100 watt glow or the signature anam falak glow? It’s not like I could that look but I would like to know the techniques or the products.

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

I took classes with Anam. Her pictures are edited quite a bit. Other than that she uses lots of highlighter/illuminator and quite a few spritzes of finishing spray. In person, it does not look very pretty and I think Natasha probably does a better job...

Good question moodie. All they seem to mention on their respective pages is this amaaaaazing 100 watt glow blah blah . I must say I prefer the natasha pictures

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

Benefit's Watt's Up...I swear by it! That's how I get my 100 watt glow...amazing stuff

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

Based on some looks by Natasha, they probably just dunk their head in highlighter towards the end. It does look too much sometimes. I have no idea what that glow would even look like on someone with a more sanwali skin. All the brides are so gori gori =/

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

^ I agree!

Sometimes the "glow" comes across as an oily face and I want to use blotting paper of the person's face. As with anything, moderation is the key.

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

i did wonder at one point if they had a 'gori only' policy for potential bride ...

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

Oh yes. I came across this picture a while back, and yes it’s meant to be all glowy and stuff, but the top left corner picture, that’s what I look like after a few hours post-washing face. Guess I don’t need a highlighter :vivo:

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

I don't like their style at all. All brides end up looking the same and like Essie said dipped in highlighter.

I've also not-so-good reviews about Anams classes, like she doesn't turn up etc. But who knows eh

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

Omg yes! I've wondered that too. Or maybe the only clients' pictures they post are the ones who are all fair

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

but i am in love with their rasberry lip shade...it looks yummy on picture at least.

i have bought 2 lip liners and lipstick so far but none are the exact rasberry match.

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

I think I've seen them mention that they mix a couple of colors to get that shade. Same as Bina Khan, she mixes 3 or 4 lipsticks to get the right color for her brides.

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

Ok, is it really really that good? I've heard people say that ever since it's come out

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

I’ve had this question for a while. Is highlighter the same as illuminator and what is it supposed to do?

Also, where should it be applied? I’ve seen it applied liberally all over the face but then I’ve seen makeup tutorials and heard makeup artists say that it should be applied sparingly to certain areas. confused](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=confused)

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

From my understanding, illuminators are something that you mix in with your foundation, whereas highlighters are used as a finishing product. Highlighters should be applied to the high points of your face, so that includes the upper part of your cheekbones, on your cupid’s bow, on your browbone, your chin and the area between your clavicles.

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

Do they produce the same effect or are they used for accomplishing different looks?

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

Using a highlighter only will give you high points and "low" points on your face. So for example if you're contouring, it will give you that extra oomph to the angles you're creating on your face. An illuminator however will give you that glowing from the inside look. It can also make a matte foundation have a dewy finish if you use it that way. But you can also combine both a highlighter and an illuminater together, since typically illuminators have less of a shinyness to them than a highlighter.

What I've also seen a lot of the MUA do is that they highlight and contour using 2 different shades of foundation/concealor (light and dark). That then gives you that Kim K finish. That look can then be finished with a highlighter on top to make the cheekbones/cupids bow etc be more prominent.

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

It took me the longest time to figure out to apply blush and eyeshadow correctly - figuring out highlighter, illuminators, coutouring is just beyond me :(

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

But highlighters are so pretty :jano: I really do think they finish a look, especially since I really don’t like the whole matte finish on me personally. Natural faces have some sheen/glow to them, so you can get that using a highlighter/illuminator.

Re: Anam Falak/Natasha salon signature glow

I’ve only recently began giving highlighter, illuminator and contouring a try and have not yet gotten the technique down. @Ess Emm’s post was super helpful! :k:
