Oh in case any of her 'fan club' retort with 'oh Pakistani judges this and that', well piyaray baccho, those peons and typists didn't get enough of that much deserved chitrole.
Anyway, what happened **to her is not acceptable. Hopefully they will **catch the officers, but I doubt it if she didn't see who assaulted her.
she was rioting, she probably got pushed around. we cannot accept what she is saying unless there are other unbiased witnesses. Catch the officers? for what stopping the rioters?
i have read in Nawa-i-waqt that police serched her as she was trying to cross the gates of SC...however ..this thing is bad....lady constables should have done this...

If she was assaulted, then they should follow-up with her accusation. If some police offices did assault her, then they should be punished.
Anyways if anyone feels like helping out they can help by writing letters to pakistani newspapers.
sara: u remember her right? yeah thats the same lady.
iconoclast: i think thats an "after" photo. i dont think she would attend a rally in pakistan dupatta-less.
i am not part of her fan -club..and i dont know her enough to assess whether her intentions are just for publicity or not (since the nature of advocacy at a global level requires exposure to some extent) but I think the organization is doing a good job building schools in less privileged areas of pakistan for women and have shown results in cases such as for M.Mai. but at the moment we have her word only. cant force anyone to accept it as true.
It will be her word against their's, not like groping can be proved. I wouldn't be surprised if some police officers had touched her inappropriately but proving it will be her biggest challenge, unless someone got pictures!
Has there ever been a peaceful protest in Pakistan?
what results have they shown in cases such a M. Mai? have there photgraphs taken with her for their own pubilicity is not "results".
if u are interested you can visit the anaa website. speak to mr. zafar iqbal etc to get more information. i attended their conference, spoke to them, visited websites and read up articles which proved to me that they are not just all talk. i am not going to sit here and convince anyone of supporting them though. i gave you a woman's account of her being harrassed and an article in a newspaper....as far as harrassment is concerned its always one woman's word claiming it and most of the time its hard to prove.
There are other excellent groups doing tremendous work in pakistan. I will give you the example of Human Development Foundation. You can find out about their good work by checking their website out or attending the convention during memorial day weekend in chicago.
But I just dont see its leaders liek Khalid Riaz seeking publicity, making outlandish statements with shock value associated with them (not this time, but all you have to do is go back and read her previous statements) ... In APPNA circles she is known as a person who is connected and what nots, especially in Pakistan, but also that she is a megalomaniac.
Regardless if there was some sort of punga on purpose, then no matter wat she is and who she is, and what her motivations were, the perps who harassed her need to be punished. I dont think that is quite what hapened because the rest of the reviews of the general police approach and attitude that day has been mostly positive. But then thats just my assumption, it possible that somethign did happen.

She is? on what basis? I dont know of any outlandish statements that she has made except for against the feudal systems in pakistan and against hudood.

Here is the news article you are flaunting ad nauseam**:
**
This is the article in its entirety which quotes her claim but doesn’t provide an independent verification. It’s a claim, not a fact. Don’t make it sound like that newspaper is corroborating her story.
That is why Im a big believer in women staying at home; let the gents worry about rallys and the whole deal;
At home only ur husband can touch ur private areas; at rallies ur only inviting the uneducated janwars to feel u up.
^^^ Exactly.
