In my experience on and off Gupshup, I have come across these very strong anti-American sentiments from a group that shares a very similar background: Saudi Arabia – UK – Canada (I call it the SUCK Triangle – or the S.C.U.K Triangle). So these Suckers are at the forefront of spreading anti-Americanism, and in their eyes, America can do no right. Even when the women’s right to drive a car in Saudi Arabia is being discussed, to them it is America’s fault. A camel gets pregnant by a Saudi Sheikh, it is America’s fault for not inventing diaphragms big enough to fit camels. Gimme a fking break.
Some characters here have lived in all the countries of the SUCK Triangle (mad-Scientist, I am not picking on you. Honestly.), and they are most screwed up anti-Americans ever.
It is understandable for someone who has lived in an open society to dislike some of the things that America does. But with what kinda face someone who has lived in places where women can’t drive ask questions about American morality and its ways of doing things? Shouldn’t you be worried about women’s right to hold a shift?
I think this SUCK triangle presents a unique study situation for a sociologist to find out why the petro-kids (born and raised in Saudi Arabia to oil laborer parents working in refineries then going to Canada (because it is easier to immigrate there than to the US) have such strong anti-American feelings?
It’s not just their anti-Americanism (in my opinion) but their views on other matters as well. I think living among Camels is very bad for one’s mental health.
Madhanee, you are right ... and i really dont get it ....why no one comes down on saudi arabia. Either US or Muslims. I mean if pak made it illegal for women to drive, I think that would garner alot of international attention. And although its in the news, its presented more as a curiosity simply because its saudi arabia. hmmm....maybe could be possibly ...they're rich with oil so everyone bows down to them i think.

Madhanee, the reality is that this is self loathing on part of SUCKers. They find themselves consistently trying to turn their failures in successes but having little success in that. This breeds contempt and jealousy for those who have not seen the virtues of their beliefs as something remotely remarkable or even workable. And the antithesis to their models are the established successes in this modern world. also, being perpetually constipated doesn't help..SUCKers either.
Mama ji, you raise very valid points. In the eyes of the SUCK group, Israel is part of the US. They don’t consider it a separate entity.
In terms of why don’t they press Saudi Arabia for reforms? Because, #1, Saudi Arabia supplies both spiritual and financial support to Pakistanis (however misdirected it may be), and has a very strong hold on its resource structure as well. It has plenty of investment there.
You see, Pakistanis who have lived in the Persian Gulf region since the early 60s, have not been able to integrate or assimilate into that society. I don’t know a single Pakistani who studied at an Arab school (most go to their own Pakistani Schools, and little better off send their kids to British or American Schools). Pakistanis are treated pretty much as dirt in those countries, yet they find faults with America and not with the Persian Gulf. It is a very interesting study case.

Seminole, I can somehow put Frog’s criticism of America in some kind of perspective. Their’s does not emerge from absolute hypocrisy, but a legitimate difference of opinion backed by a strong democratic value system (20% of French are now non-Native, i.e., Arabs). The difference among the French and the Americans is more philosophical and not necessarily a result of inbred hatred. Having said that, I must say that Frogs are some of the most insecure people I have experienced, and their anti-American is not any different from their anti-Germanism, or anti-UKism. They hate everyone equally, whereas SUCKers are mostly American Haters. I had a French girlfriend once, so I am a little biased.
Reform in Saudi Arabia, sure after the US gets off of it knees and stop SUCKing the big round thick black oil barrel, then they will ask for reform. They cannot just ask for two things at the same time that would be hypocritical of them.

Minime Bhaijan, The Saudi Arabian oil industry is built by Baker and Otis, and without Americans being there, the dumb Saudis wouldn’t know the difference between piss and oil. American are helping them become civilized but the dumb Saudis are deadest in taking their country back about 15 centuries.
