an alternative to feta cheese?

can anyone tell me an alternative to feta cheese for a feta a spinich quiche.

I dont like the taste of feta cheese i find it too strong.

Alvena, have you tried goat cheese? I find it to be delicious. It has a nice tang to it. And the texture is similar to feta/ricotta cheese. Except goat cheese doesn't taste as strong and sometimes overpowering as feta AND it's not too mild or bland like ricotta.

It does tend to be slightly more pricey than cheese made from cow's milk. BUT it's pretty versatile and is used in sandwiches, pizzas, soups, and salads. Try it out.

Other than that goat cheese, other cheeses that I think would go nicely in a quiche include Swiss, Fontina, Cheddar, Mozzarella. Halloumi cheese is made from goat/sheep milk.

You can even buy one single package of shredded cheese of various kinds.

RV i have tried goats cheese and i find it way way too strong it makes me feel nauseus just like feta.

I like halloumi though as its so so mild!

Goat cheese is definitely VERY strong but I must agree with you RV, it's delicious. Theres not a single person i know that also likes it. It tastes especially good with steak!

I guess there are different types of goat cheeses. The one I had was tangy but mild. I haven't tried it with steak......but oh it is soooo good in the tomato bisque from Urban Flats.

I agree with Alvena though.....Feta can be overpowering, it has a strong sour/acidic taste to it.

feta is simply nammuk ka zaher/// so far as i remember...i don't know if halloumi has that much salt in it?

halloumi is pretty salty!! it doesnt have that strong taste though.

With feta and goats cheese its not the tang which puts me off the horrible smell you get in your nose which is really milk/fatty
