An Ahmdi War Hero of Runn Kutch 1965 and CHAMB 1971 War

Auslamo Elikum to all members

and Happy Eid Mubark
Dua hey ke Allah Tallah ham sab ko iss Eid ki haqiki aur daimi Khushiyan ata Farmaye Ameen…

As I was reading threads and posts about anti Ahmadies propaganda and critisim, using irrespectable languages about Ahmadi Leaders and there believes, I better feel to start a series of Ahmdi Heroes who served there country Pakistan just as a normal Pakistani and become an unforgetable Legends. Let me start it from

Major General Iftikhar Khan Januja

Major General Iftikhar Khan Janjua (died December 9, 1971) of the Pakistan Army is the most senior Pakistani officer to have been killed in action. He is known in Pakistan as the HERO of Rann of Kutch, as he was a brigadier in command of 6th Armoured Division, during the fighting in April 1965 prior to the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. He Shaheed in a helicopter crash, in Kashmir, while in command of 23rd Infantry Division during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
He was a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Rann of Kutch, 1965

In April 1965, as part of a tri-service exercise (Arrow Head), the Indians brought in 31 and 67 Infantry Brigades in area Karim Shahi - Kavda. The IAF and the Indian aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, supported by other naval vessels, also moved into the gulf.
On 8/9 April, in a series of events not entirely clear, clashes broke out between the Indians and the Pakistanis at a post near Ding, Rann of Kutch.
On 23 April Brigadier Iftikhar Janjua, known for his BOLDNESS and one who inspired confidence among his men by being well up in front during the heat of the battle. He was a Janjua Rajput, a tribe known for its Martial Reputation and royal ancestry.
He ordered 4 Punjab to capture point 84 by first activity around Chad bet. Since the progress of 6 Punjab was slow 2 frontier force was directed to join them. By first light the battalion reached its objective without suffering too many casualties. 2 Frontier Force later attacked Biar Bet along with a squadron of 12 Cavalry. Biar Bet was captured by 0600 hours 26 April.
The task of evicting the enemy from Pakistan territory was achieved.

Speaking at the United Nations on 28 April the then Foreign Minister, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, informed the members that on 18 April, when it became clear that India planned to occupy the entire Rann of Kutch, Pakistan’s forces acted in self defence and restored the situation.

The outcome of the Rann of Kutch was considered as a positive for the Pakistan Army. As described by Lt General Gul Hassan Khan, then Director of Military Operations, in his later memoirs -

“the set back in Kutch proved immeasurably disconcerting to the Indian army. As a result the Government of India was in a quandary. On the other hand, ours was in a state of euphoria. The high command of our army was intoxicated by our showing and our morale could not possibly have been higher. We were ready for any task that may be assigned to us without any question.”

The restraint shown by India would later convince Field Marshal Ayub Khan that the Indian Government was in no mood to fight. This encouraged them into launching the Kashmir offensive, which led to the War in September 1965.

After the 65 War, Janjua was the divisional commander of 6th Armoured Division even though he himself was an infantry officer [3]](http://www.defencejournal.com/2002/february/manto.htm) - no mean feat. He spared himself the time to learn about the nuances of armoured fighting vehicles and their operations. Soon after, Janjua would command 23 Division based at Jhelum.
1971 War

In the 1971 War, Janjua was divisional commander of 23rd Infantry Division. He was assigned the task of capturing Chamb, a strategically important town in Kashmir.
The fighting around Chamb was intensely fierce and took toll on both the advancng Pakistani troops and the fiercely resisting Indian regiments. On 9 December 1971, the first Pakistani troops entered Chamb under the personal supervision of Janjua. His bold personality traits and willingness to be among his troops exuded a lot of confidence in his ranks.

In the middle of fighting, on 9 December 1971, Janjua was Shaheed when the light helicopter (OH-13S (Sioux) in which he was travelling in was attacked by Indian troops.[2]](Iftikhar Khan Janjua - Wikipedia) . He was badly burned and was evacuated to Combined Military Hospital Kharian Cantt.Till date he remains the only General ranking officer who was killed during operations.

Jab Bhi Zameen ko Zarurat Lahoo ki Padi
Sab se Pehley hii Gardan Hamari Katii

Phir Bhi kehtey hain ye Ehle Watan
Ye Watan hai hamara Tumhara Nahi

Iftikhar Khan Janjua Road in Rawalpindi, where the location of the Pakistan Army Museum[3]](Iftikhar Khan Janjua - Wikipedia), is named in His honour.
He was a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Great article about a great hero of Pakistan. He's only one of the countless other Ahmadis who have served their country with extraordinary courage and honor, some embracing the highest achievement any soldier aims for: shahadat.

Re: An Ahmdi War Hero of Runn Kutch 1965 and CHAMB 1971 War

Re: An Ahmdi War Hero of Runn Kutch 1965 and CHAMB 1971 War

Re: An Ahmdi War Hero of Runn Kutch 1965 and CHAMB 1971 War

Great thread. Thank you. May they rest in peace.

aaho.. they were declared non-muslims in 1974.. these heroes are from the war of 1965,and 1971 ... they were "Muslims" that time :D ;)

rofl @ people who are trying to be thekedaar of Islam..

Re: An Ahmdi War Hero of Runn Kutch 1965 and CHAMB 1971 War

^^ every "Muslim" is thekedar of Islam.

Oh Sorry u mean dont be so polite ? hhmmm lagta hai ke Deshi Ghee apko bhi ras nahi ata, mujhey bhi nahi ata kabhi kabhi jo khate hain na.... same as like current situtations in Pakistan ke agar koi bohat hi polite of piyar se bat karta hi chala jae tou kehte hain, OYE KE YOI KHAS CHAKAR MAI HAI..... kiyonke PIYAR MOHBAR in all aspects there are na paed si ho gaeen hain na

Re: An Ahmdi War Hero of Runn Kutch 1965 and CHAMB 1971 War

Allah is thekedaar.. Allah alone is the knower of hearts. No Muslim is.

PS: it'd be great if you acknowledge these heroes achievements and write a word or two. Can you as a Muslim or a Pakistani do it?

lol piyar muhabbat I know what sort of piyar muhabbat you are talking about as I know very well what sort of piyar muhabbat your falsified people try to show here where I live. khair enjoy yourself and dream on

Allah is thekedaar? does he need people or public to pray to HIM? praying is only a way or a so called help for people to get through the doom's day and to get Allah's favor.

Yes I can but not in Islamic forum, because the intention of such thread is not to appreciate Muslims but Ahmedis (as the thread title says it)

Re: An Ahmdi War Hero of Runn Kutch 1965 and CHAMB 1971 War

^^ o bhai maaf karo.. there is no 'islamic' forum here. It is a religion forum. Religion has a lot of school of thoughts. Ahmadis are none else but Muslims. An ahmadi muslim goes in army with the intention of getting shahaadat.

Alright then say a few words about them please. Let me see what you can write. Have a bigger heart with no hate for humanity and pray that their sacrifice is being accepted in the kingdom of Allah.

Re: An Ahmdi War Hero of Runn Kutch 1965 and CHAMB 1971 War

^^ I pray Allah deal with all non Muslims with the right way as stated in Quran and in Islamic teachings.

Ahmedis are and were non Mulims.Period

Re: An Ahmdi War Hero of Runn Kutch 1965 and CHAMB 1971 War

lol ... whatever. aapke kehne se koi muslim ya gher muslim ban ne se to raha.. We call upon Allah to be our witness over our claim of being a true and humble servants and follower of Islam. Ahmadis are not answerable to you but Allah. On Him we place our trust.

Re: An Ahmdi War Hero of Runn Kutch 1965 and CHAMB 1971 War

mr. popat u seem to be a person who takes everything so personally....stop getting soo defensive and debate in a way that could give credit to some of your claims

sincere apologies if this seems rude to you
