yes because the media is continuosly false reporting, they are playing a key part in all of this, distorting every fact they can to make it come across to you like it has. I can see the difference in the blatant propaganda and what is happening, because I dont rely solely on news sources who have thier own agenda, nor social networking sites like twitter, not only because they give you an ants eyeview instead of a birds eye view, but because they are not all that reliable. Anyone can set up an account and set thier location to tehran, and spread misinformation deliberately. This has been happening in the past few days, and is still happening at present...and people are falling for it like flies on muck.
Ma Mooli, how low you have truly sunk. You are now justifying the decision of the dictators of Iran to ban media from reporting on the protests. You now justify the imprisonment of students who dare blog or upload videos from Iran and you do so while having the freedom to post your own views without worry of consequence onto the Internet. Why do you feel that you haven a right to post your views but your sisters in Iran face harsh punishment if they do the same?
Why do you continue to support the Iranian regime who only allows state controlled media and bans free media? A regime who bans thousands from running for political office due to their political views. A regime who beats and kills peaceful protesters including young women. A regime who after killing a young woman forbid her family from mourning publicly and has forced them to relocate. You said in another post you support this regime and their actions because Mousavi has acted, as you say, childishly? Seems your values tumble over at the rumor of wind. How sad.

1) Dictators they are not.
2) A Media ban is understandable considering the role they are playing in destablising the country, it is most likely a temporary thing.
3) I dont think you can talk considering you support the ban of al-manar and at one point al-jazeera.
4) Isreal banned the media from reporting in gaza, US censored the information of body bags coming home, and the number of iraqi causualties caused at thier hands. They pratically proof read every media report going out. Not to mention they deliberately bombed media outlets that they were given co-ordinations for.
All countries do the same but i guess its easy pointing fingers at others isnt it?

1) No media is free, every one has thier agenda.
2) you have no evidence the gov was responsible for either the killing of lady or anything else for that matter, its all rather twittery at the moment.
3) my values havent changed as much as my views, and that is key.

Dictator: Ruling absolutely and often oppressively. It fits Iran to a t.
Throwing your sisters into jail for uploading and blogging about the protests you say is understandable? The truth is you claim to care about human rights only when it fits your agenda, you've been exposed by your own posts.
Don't accuse me without a link to the post(s).
So you have no problems with Israel banning media? I certainly have a problem with it. And to pretend the U.S. proofreads all media reports coming out of Iraq is blatantly false. The Bush did ban photos of caskets coming home from Iraq, the ban has been lifted, but a very poor example to compare what Iran is doing (and has done frequently).
At the end of the day you admit you support that the state control the media, you support the arrest of bloggers, and you support the beating of protesters. Spin it all you want, your values have changed because the arena is different this time.
what utter rubbish. From someone who actually lsitened to the speech live, this thread is utter distortion and generaly flaming.
Im not sure what you've been listening to, but Ayatullah Khamenei actually did warn the basijis that they will be held accountablefor any unlawful killing, there is actually an investigation going on over the tehrani uni killings.
secondly, the rioters have taken to burning buildings and cars, and putting people's lives at risk. They have not been peacful protest by any means.
The onus is on the rioters, and protesters, and the party leaders who encourage this beahviour. There is a legal way, use it.
From first hand witnesses, a group of student protesters who refused to sit thier exams, decided to attack another group of students who were actually sitting thier exams. Their exams were torn apart mid way and the exam sitting students were attacked. It wasnt until security was called in, and the mob arrested, did the issue settle down. That part was not reported however, apparently according to western media, the police entered tehran uni and attacked 'innocent' students.
The distortion is unbelievable;
Waah jee waah, first supporter of Tyrant regime who claims to be 100% Islamic and is hardly Islamic- these ppl paint a very bad picture of Islam and other muslims suffer. Ahmedinejad can act as a stand-up comedian- Not all protesters were involved in violent protests. Mousavi is a guy who help bring Islamic revolution to fruition and was a favorite of the Late Ayatollah Khomeni who was in favor of Saudi-style Sunni Islam. Mousavi is being targeted and his votes were stolen simply because he's represent true Islam and wants Iranian to become a true Islamic country.
