Aamir liaqat hussain is not a shia!
I inenquired my mum about this and she said she'd seen a program where DALH was saying that lots of people ask him the same question. i.e is he shia? and he said no Alhamdullilah he was sunni. Apparently the shia guy was "ghoor raha tha" when he said this!

I heard stuff about his fake phD…and he claimed to be a medical doctor a few years ago in person.
His alim online tv show , in my opinion, is not juxtapositioning shia and sunni, instead its mixing them up. If you dont know religion, no one is pleading you to teach it…the guy carries so much burden of misleading the pakistani avaam.

He has been accused of obtaining degrees from a non-recognized university in Spain called Trinity College and University, Spain.
Check www.trinityeducation.com . Any one can get the master’s degree at the cost 195 British pounds.
Status of Aamir Liaqat’s degrees is also questioned due to the fact that date printed on Masters is 15th March, 2002 and date printed on his PhD is 5th April, 2002. which implies that he completed his PhD in only 20 days after his Master degree .

The alleged college he has received his degree from (and a few other individuals at high places within the government and semi-private sector) is indeed un-acredited.
Many such schools give out degrees for a mere couple of hundred dollars to a thousand dollars give or take... I just wanted to post this information to help out anyone who has been contacted by such a school that promisses a degree based on "life experience" ... the degree is not even worth the paper it is printed on so please do not throw your money away.
In the case of "Dr." Liaquat Hussain and others who have purchansed these degrees, it is FRAUD, and in strict violation of Islamic principals. They should stop using these titles if they ideed believe in God and His Message.

Dr. Aamir is Sunni with soft corner for Shias.
However, his brother Imran Liaqat has converted into hardcore Shia and is a big preacher in Karachi. Read up Imran's site and check out some of his comedy. The family has become controversial in Karachi, as during the operations in 90s, this family was not touched (being supporter of MQM) and they had Tekka over police and authorities. So there is some connection with big guys (millitary establishment or West). Two years ago, Aamir was called up by Altaf in London, where he tightened his screws, as latter and MQM higher command felt that millitary is crafting a new Altaf for MQM (as his popularity touched sky back then). There has been many stories, how he is treated by establishment, compare to other MQM pedistrian ministers/MNAs.

Calling the degree fake might not be ture, realistically. you may call it meaningless, unrecognised, purchased degree.
There are many institutes all around the world giving degrees online, some might be legal. They require you to submit research paper and then they award you the phd.
Anyway, leave aside the degree (the piece of paper) the guy still does not falter in reality. The long marathon transmission which he conducts, requires a great deal of religious understanding of some very difficult issues.
I did not find any major technical flaws in his religious knowledge and concepts. A great deal of research is required to achieve this feat.
I speak purely on (publically) religious side of his personality. I am not very much aware of the depth of his political affiliations and his political agenda (if any)
Please elaborate your statement. How on earth is bridging gaps between sectarian bullies a bad thing ?

this is not a judgement, merely an observation. A great deal of knowledge is not required to sense nonsense. You just have to pay some attention.
I do disagree with some of stuff, he says or preaches. But that is theorotical and trivial and not fundamental. He stands on sound footings and i agree with his philosophy of mutual respect and admiration, and standing tall above the petty sectarian strife and preaching love instead of bigotry.
Whether he is shia or sunni, i dont care. The important thing for me that the person should be no-nonsense preacher, logical and respectful to his opponent :k:
