I'm not sure why people are making her out to be some kind of role model. She's not even famous herself- she just happens to be married to someone famous. It's not her place to teach younger generations about culture, morality, religion or whatever else you're thinking of. I find that ridiculous. Parents should parent their kids, even their marriage-age girls. I highly doubt someone is going to see her and say oh I'm going to bare my belly now. And if they do, well they were probably going to do that anyway.
My friend just emailed me few pictures (from somewhere online). I think looks pretty on her wedding day although disappointed with her mendi outfit (and boy is she skinny)

I totally agree with this, what makes me laugh is when people call them the Pakistani royal couple like William and Kate that's just taking it too far.
I wonder why she choose an Indian Designer, Indian Wedding Planner it was her time to represent her background... She looks beautiful but as a Muslim I am disappointed she would even consider a lehnga choli for her outfit. I understand you want to be different but there is lots of variety even in India. This is not good for future muslim girls this is opening a door for new thoughts. I feel like she is confused or maybe I am just to backward. May god bless them!
Lots of muslims are Indian and Bengali, they wear sarees, lenghas, shalwar kameez, anarkalis, white dresses with veils, blah blah blah on their wedding day, trust me, Faryal will not confuse us.
Faryal Looked pretty! Personally not what I'd go for but she managed to pull it off well.
However , the makeup seemed a bit harsh to me. Never been a fan of Naem Khan ( looks like his work ).
its as if the lengha is really weighing down on her.she looks pretty, nothing special she always has that eyemake up on. i dont like her jewellery on the mehndi i dont know about regal it looks paindu.even if they were going for the indian look they cud have done so much better, but they both do look nice.sometimes i find that celebrities look so nice otherwise but when it comes to their weddings they dont look anything special.but perhaps she looked better in real.i hope she has a different look on the valima it would be nice to see her without these panda eyes.and shes leaving new york for bolton! that will be a change....
I think Faryal's bridal look was absolutely stunning, ma sha allah. I'm sooo happy for her. I think everything was perfect and they make a stunning couple. Beautiful bride. I love her dress esp' the kaam and the colour...it's so different compared to the same style you see in the Bridal forum. I loved her jewellery too.
Best of luck to the newly wed. may allah swt keep them united and blessed - aameen.
^ She's just a random girl who happens to have married a British Pakistani boxer who won a silver medal at 2008 Olympics and then went professional getting some world titles.
I thought she looked really lovely! Definitely regal and sophisticated and indian-inspired. I don't usually like that hair-style, but it suited her well.
As for Amir, I don't love what he's wearing. At all. But bless him, he made an effort to match his wife's outfit and that's sweet.
She looks pretty because she is naturally pretty.. anyone else who would’ve worn that much makeup would’ve looked borderline drag and combined with that dress.. yikes. I personally would’ve loved to see her in a light coloured dress because i think it would really suit her best. i mean look at her in this light pink sari:
I think people are just disappointed that she didn’t wear a pakistani style dress because her husband is known as a pakistani around the world, not an indian, which for us first-generation born westerners is sort of an accomplishment since it is very common for people here to call us “indian” because it’s perfectly okay to call us something we’re not, right? But anyways, the bigger disappointment is actually in amir’s outfit.. as my sister said, “he looks like a ketchup chip” LOL
I really like her outfit, theres nothing wrong with showing your waist as long as u can pull it off. I love the dramatic eye makup but i dont like the blush it just looks like a line of colour on her cheek and i think amirs outfit is really nice too but he should have lost the head thingy that doesnt look very good on him.
