I think the foreign policy thing is kind of tired. I think that is something of a cover for real, ignorant hatred-the very kind many of you are so convinced is endemic in America. I saw something refreshing on Frontline last week. It was the story of the Canadian Pakistani kid who spied for the U.S. When they interviewed his sister and mom, they just let them talk. And they sounded like real dumba••es.
So often in our media, we are given the impression that hatred for America is the product of "root causes" of our own doing. The Muslim voices we hear are presented in my view as "reasoned" or "critical". Like you, no one hates Americans, just our policies and our administration. The impression given that collectively the Muslim position on "America Hatred" is generally founded and well-thought out.
Well, I don't think that is accurate. I think you've got plenty of your own dumb rednecks in the Muslim community-who midlessly hate-The "Clems" or "Bubbas" (if I gave them Muslim names it might be "insultory") or whatever you termed them in the other thread about the names of American soldiers. On the whole you might even have a worse problem with your rednecks than we have with ours.
