how ever if you do read that article, how spectacular it is that the author mentions this in one paragraph and then forgets about it. This is quite easily the biggest story of this century. Just shows how much biased the western media is towards these issues.
They raped Iran in 1954, they are raping Iraq and Afghanistan.

Rape in western societies is a much less of a crime as compared to murder. If they are not bothered by ~2 million murders in Iraq, why would they give a damn about the rape of Iraqi girls?

The article covers a number of things and war crimes like rape are part of an overall narrative that he has about the so called honour killings. I dont understand the complaint that he has only touched upon the prison rapes. That is not the topic of the article he has given numerous example and situations which all have one thing in common, a so called honour killing aka excuse for a cold blooded murder.
As far as the issue of prison rapes, its indeed pathetic and subhuman, and I dont think we know the full details of what went on in that prison, just like the personal adventures of some criminal soldiers only came to light because their team mates with a conscience stepped up and reported it. The issue with cover ups is that it leads to speculation on what else is not disclosed and it also encourages others to engage in crimes because they feel it would be covered up as well. criminals should be tried and punished, not because of some warm fuzzy on winning hearts and minds, but because simply a criminal has to be punished.

Maybe you’d like to do something about the thousands of gang-rapes in Pakistan first. Frankly, I don’t care what they do to Iraqis, or Turks or Iranians or for that matter, to anyone else. We are Pakistanis. Long live Pakistan and every1 else can go to hell.

Firstly I don't want everyone else to go to hell, secondly I would like to know where did you get your number "thousands of gang-rapes in Pakistan"? Please don't pull anything out of no-sunshine areas. Thirdly, we are talking about a state-sponsored institution committing these crimes and not some criminals taking advantage of lawlessness in the area.

Ahan? Well we've been talking about our "Muslim brothers" for FAR TOO LONG. No one is going to come and save this country. No one but the people IN Pakistan. No Saudi, No Turk, No sheikh from Dubai.
We can either close our eyes to the great changes in the world and continue to talk about morals and ethics or we can start trying to maximize profits for a better future. And for getting more yourself, someone else has to get less. Only way forward is a ruthless approach. That's what the Americans have been doing for years. They don't care if anyone lives or dies. My family built a whole business on this principle. And it works for countries too.

Just pick up a copy of DAWN. You get one almost everyday. And the vast majority of rapes, at least 70-80% are not reported. Probably more.

And you don't agree that the majority of rapes in Pakistan are not reported?

All I’m saying is that it’s no big deal. Almost every army in history did it. Anyways, my response was to the next two posts. I was trying to drive the point home that morals and ethics won’t give you money and power, the two things that Pakistan needs to survive.

God everybody is talking about the rape and nobody is even commenting on the fact that some of these victims were killed by the families because of shame. I really dont understand this mentality...
It is not OK to rape somebody while it is OK to kill somebody for honour...
