I fully agree that this act was despicable. I have already said that in one of my earlier posts. (I agree this post was not clear, so my apologies).
I was referring to your pos tin which you were talking about hanging them for killing and maiming. I was just pointing out that soliders have to do their duty, and killing and maiming are unfortunately part of their duty.
And I was clumsily trying to make the point that for this particular act they did (I cant bring myself to type it out of respect for the dead), they dont deserve to be hanged.
The bigger point I was also trying to make was that at some point, each of us needs to soften our rhetoric so we can stop demonizing each other.
Stop it with your lack of comprehension issues - this is getting old.
You just said your post was not clear and you clumsily wrote something. And on the other hand talking about my comprehension? :D
Next time organize your thoughts before you type. ;)
whether they choose to urinate mutilate rape or whatever every US soldier occupying muslim land deserves a bullet from the guns of the mujahideen.
And as a US citizen, the US soldiers will have my support. They do not make the decision to go to war. They are just doing the job assigned to them. Incidents such as these are unfortunate. azthe bigger point is, we all need to work together to end wars, and not continuing to fuel it by hateful language.
since its their govt which keeps invading countries all over the world…thousands of miles away…with no threat posed from those peoples whose countries get destroyed…??
I agree that unfortunately wars make for good politics. There are a few of us who do believe in peace. Hopefully that number would increase, as we recognize the ravages of war.
I am sorry for what happened to the dead in the incident. I hope such incidents will not happen again.

so majority of US citizens back the wars...right? and then your soldiers too......... how do u expect other people to not associate you (the citizen) with whatever happens........be it the very existence of a war or some incident like this.......

Good ponit Nom.
I think things are changing. People are realizing that Warshould be the last resort. I do not have the numbers, but I think 10.5 yrs ago, the mood was more towards war. Now the scales are tilting towards getting our soldiers back home.
People are realizing that the sacrifices are being made only by a small minority - soldiers and their families. That is the reason for me to stick up for the soldiers - for the most part, they are just doing their duty.
You will get no argument from me that there needs to be more people believing in peace, both in the US (and abroad).

That is plain ignorant if you support US soldiers killing, murdering and destroying afghanistan just because the US soldiers are the same nationality like you, what kind of intellectually bankrupt basis is that it is no different than racism because nationalism is just as nasty as racism.
At least muhammad ali the greatest sportsman ever in my view had the guts and courage to stand up during the veitnam war and condemn his own government when he said:
"Got nothing against no Viet cong, no Vietnamese ever called me a nier"
**Then the US government locked him up in jail and banned him from boxing for speaking the truth and refusing to go and kill Vietnamese people!
^ I am not in favor of War, period. I am just trying to say that theh soldiers ae just doing their duty in general. Yes, in this instance, they did something that all of us can agree was despicable.
I agree with you that Muhammad Ali was indeed great, with his conscientious objection. But do understand that being a soldier is a prefession.
I personaly will alsways vote for a person who is not a hawk. Unfortunately, not too many of them running for office. And the few who are for Peace do not have much of a chance - only Bernie Sanders, Kuciniwich, Ron Paul come to mind (I am sure there are a few others).
I apologize if I gave the impression that I support killings in general. It is my understanding there were some bad guys who did deserve to be taken out in Afghanisthan.
Anyway, the debate on this War may be a different thread - I was hoping to make the point that soldiers have a job to do.
what do you mean by wars? which wars? if you want to make an argument about iraq, then specify iraq.
to club in afghanistan with iraq may be trendy but it is nonsensical. nobody went to war in a fourth-world toilet like afghanistan for fun. the US justly and mandatorily invaded afghanistan in response to a large-scale unprovoked act of war perpetrated by a terrorist network firmly ensconced in the country as guests of the ruling government…and it did so with full support of the international community.
by your logic, you should be blaming the afghan citizens for not overthrowing their government in protest of its behavior and relationships with al-qaeda.

Diwana said right you have to think first what you wana say. Including this incidents marines are involved in too many uncivilized un human acts a lot of come out with proves and I am very confident there are lot lot more which not leak out AND here you saying that soldiers are on their jobs?? Is this kind of job they trained is this kind of worst mentality they have? Look at your country and their big mouths about civilization and human rights talks and compare it with your soldiers acts.

Actually, my very first post on this topic - post 28 says the following "Granted this behavior was not good." So I had already communicated that I was not in favor of this behavior. Hence in the later post, I had not explicitly stated this - thus leaving room for mis-interpretation. Since I could see why it could have been mis-interpreted, I apologized.
"here you saying that soldiers are on their jobs?? Is this kind of job they trained is this kind of worst mentality they have?"
Now you are willfully misrepresnting what I stated. I have already said this behavior was not good - and later called it despicable. So no, I was not saying this was part of their job. I was responding to one poster who said these soldiers should be hanged for killing and maiming - I was pointing out the controversy in this specific instance was not about killing or maiming - but of what they did after death.
You can have tyhe last word, since it is clear to me I am not able to communicate what I tried to state.
^ No one I know speaks about Muslims in such negative tones. In fact, the topic does not even come up. Whether it be acquaintances, colleagues - no time is spent speaking ill of Muslims.
I think when you watch the media, you get a wrong sense of what folks here in US are about. Lots of decent people here. And we want peace.
I will say a prayer tonight for the dead, and hope they rest in peace.

regardless if you a hawk or against wars, if you blindly support troops based on color or nationality this is ignorance.
as an example I cannot support pakistan army if they invade just for example Nepal and start killing people and occupy the land. I cannot give excuse they just doing there job, they need to be told what they doing is wrong, and accounted.
I look at the veitnam war with interest lot of people in America at that time where more in tune with politics and condemned the veitnam war and the troops for what they doing.
Today majority of America is deaf dumb and blind and in this case giving blind support for troops just because they same nationality!
^ Bhai Sahab, the soldiers do not make the decision - that is all I am saying. If I had my way, I would bring all of them back so they can also be with their family.
You do make a good point about the vietnam war - the difference is - at the time, everyone had to enlist. Now, it is someone else's children. It is my understanding that only Huntsman's children serve today - none of the other Congressmen have their kids serving.
The Progressives have been speaking out against War for a long time. But we also care about the Soldiers since they are only doing their duty. One can be for peace, and at the same time still support the soldiers - since they are doing their duty.
In the World Forum, I had provided information on Bill Moyer who is coming back from retirement. Please do watch his programs - and you will see the good humanistic side of Americans.
I will refrain from commenting more on this topic. Khuda Hafiz.

Bill maher is extremely pro israel and justifies the violence against palestine as something good and to be supported. This shows his double standards unconditional support of israel no matter what.
He is also anti muslim and that is his right no problem there, nobody is forcing him to love islam, but to show extreme examples and ridicule islam but not to have extreme secular examples to ridicule it, shows again he has no fair platform of reply. I would recommend muslims not to tune in to this guy it will be no benefit for muslims at all.
Regarding your comments on US military, in the eyes of general american public, the American troops can do no wrong even if they piss and abuse afghans, that tells the level of thinking in that nation, Very shallow. Although i agree there is some people and groups against what is going on in afghanistan but they are small minority.

Javed Bhai, I was referring to Bill Moyer. He is ~ 85 years old, and a truly kind and fair human being.
