Re: American Airlines..
^
Atleast they are better than PIA.
Re: American Airlines..
^No they are not, trust me on that. I've travelled plenty on AA to say this. AA sucks.
lol, i'm not surprised. First pay for those cheapass headphones, and now meals. What's next, you've to pay to use their bathrooms? Khotay de puttar.
Jetblue is so much better, too bad it has limited destinations.
Re: American Airlines..
Sehar i aggree! Next they will want us to pay for those tiny blankets and pillows too.
Music M- PIA does leave a lot of these US airlines in the dust when it comes to inflight service. Even in a short flight from Karachi to Lahore they serve you a full meal and inflight service is polite.
Re: American Airlines..
sooraj mukhi - why did you have to remind me of the blankets and pillows! 90% of the time i never got one, no matter how soon i've asked after boarding the flight. Now i don't care what the weather is, I always take a hoodie with me on board.
Re: American Airlines..
Yaar i dont even eat a single meal on PIA, it sucks and often rancid, i would rather pay for ma food separtley
Re: American Airlines..
I have travelled on so many airlines that I dont even remember how many names. AA is never a great airline, but on the top of my list is United for worst. Emirates is best for travels to asia and virgin atlantic is best for US/UK travel.
Cheapest I travelled is through Ryan Air, six Euroes from Eindhoven (NL) to Standstead (UK), they dont serve anything at all and as a matter of fact six Euroes were the airport tax only, flight was free.
I cannot say PIA is bad, they are pretty OK if not good but much better than many airlines.
Re: American Airlines..
American Airlines isn't good. We use Continental mostly.
Re: American Airlines..
Americans will be DROWNED soon..... in everything (not a curse just an analysis).
Re: American Airlines..
Continental counter help is by far the WORST that I have encountered! I no longer fly with them even if their fare is cheaper.
I use AA -- the counter help is very good, they fly to almost every major destination, and pre-14 day fares are good. I take my own meal if needed. They also code-share/partner with several major international a-lines for international travel.
Re: American Airlines..
^ That's strange, we've never had any problems with them...plus, i have travelled so many times for free thanks to their air miles programme. Besides, do u spend more time at the counter desk with them or on the plane? To me the in-flight services r more important, than the time at the airport. Everyone experiences some problems from time to time at airports.
Re: American Airlines..
I have had quite a few hence I no longer fly with them. As regards inflight service, I hadn't noitced any better or worse service.
Re: American Airlines..
Almost all my miles are with American, so I can't complain about their service all that much. They have the best leg room. Pretty much no major US airline serves free in-flight meal any more anyway. Either eat at the airport, or take some food with you in the plane. Or you know, you don't HAVE to eat for small 2-3 hour flight anyway. Whats the big deal?
I am not particularly fond of airline food anyway, plus it takes for ever for them to take the tray away and kinda gets you stuck with that tray down for so long. Unless, I absolutely have to, I usually politely refuse their peanuts and drinks as well. I usually travel with a water bottle, and that keeps me plenty hyderated.
United and Delta are pretty sucky when it comes to leg space. So unless your destination is served by a small boutique airline like Jet Blue, air Trans, Song, Ted or Hooters Air (for some of you :D), get used to lousy inflight food service.
Re: American Airlines..
And Sehar, for blankets and pillows... try pinching them from another seat or the overhead bin, as you are making your way to your seat on boarding the 'plane. Always works unless you have a very high zone number! :D
And that reminds me, if you are flying coach class take a seat as far back in the plane as possible. That gives a low Zone number, which translates to plenty of available overhead bin space as well as more opportunities to pinch blankets and pillows. However, don't take a seat at the very last row as that sometimes will not have any reclining space.

Not sure if Song is still in business but I enjoyed flying with them...reminded me of the good ole' days of air travel. :D
Re: American Airlines..
I saw several Song 'planes on the tarmac when I landed in Atlanta last week, so I am assuming they are still in business.
Re: American Airlines..
Well Air Canada isn’t any better either. DItto regardless that the american airline sure does sucks a whole lot more compared to it! Eww, last time I got a pillow with someone’s hair on it! And that was the last one they said they have ![]()
Recently travelling with my toddler on Air Canada, atleast the nicest thing they did was to give me an entire row of seats near the window. Packed up a huge knapsack of goodies and beverages for her and ma self. Cudn’t ignore the guy in the aisle seat looking over glancing our way billions of times. Poor thing had nothing to eat sept a bag of pretzels and pop
Too bad I didn’t offer him any food, thinking it’d be perhaps tad bit rude or insulting shrugs ahwell! We had a lovely flight!
Emirates by far is quite the nicest most civilized compared to all with multilingual crew, except I hate their not-enuf-gul kiya chanay with the paratha breakfast. They’ve to change their menu, often! They serve the same stuff over and over everytime u take that plane from Dubai to Pak. Its so gross!
well okay British Airways is quite alright too. Except I’ve boycotted them cuz they keep on losing my luggage, a totally jinxed up ride for me ![]()
PIA taken locally in Pak is the most cutest thing ever, especially their richshaw like jahaz foker! Hehe… I was in utter disbelieve, until that thing actually took off up in the air, and flew. Then the Boeing to Islo is the beshtesht experiences from Lhr, with only 30 or less mins of flying time. The crew is so sweet, esp’ the air dudes. I think by now the entire crew in LHR A.Iqbal airport knows me quite well. Even certain porters race down to grab my stuff saying to each other, meri baji tuo aa gai hie ![]()
Saudi Airway may be the most filthiest, dustiest (never wear black in that plane)but the crew is very polite for sure. Giving you their best possible. Though my spouse differed with me in opinion.
Hmm… Oh the cheapest airline ever invested in was the Gulf. I was perhaps one of the luckiest of not having run into any baggage loss mishaps or stuff. Wonderful,
wonderful trip all the way! Great food too! ![]()
Re: American Airlines..
I don’t like Emirates at all!
Came across the rudest air hostess on a flight from Dubai to Lahore…PIA crew were nice, can’t say the same for some of the passengers!
Re: American Airlines..
Most of my frequent flier miles are with american as well. I like them generally. My fav airlines are British Airways and Lufthansa
worst airline ever is gulf, never getting on that thing again unless i have no other options.
and in terms of ranking American is generally ranked above PIA
