Turns out the US finally agreed to let us pick the targets. That is why Mehsud is dead. Now if they would only transfer the technology so we could kill them ourselves.
Re: Amazing article on Drone attacks
^^ India would never let USA give Pakistan such advanced technology not to mention that the Drone technology can be leaked to the Chinese.
Pakistan should concentrate on making its own drones such as its Falco Drone with Italy.
Re: Amazing article on Drone attacks
She (Jane Mayer) was on Fresh Air last week. The question is, where does it stop?
Re: Amazing article on Drone attacks
^^ most probably when Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda' top leadership are dead
Re: Amazing article on Drone attacks
Who cares about India? The US has increased supplying us weapons and ammo since their relationship with India. Doesn't change the necessity on the ground. Its odd for a Pakistani, you always seem to have something negative to say about aspects that will benefit Pakistan.
Re: Amazing article on Drone attacks
^^ No I am a realist. Pakistan has asked for these Drones and US has refused.
Re: Amazing article on Drone attacks
i think pakistan has already got these drones, there was one which was 'recovered' by pakistani forces after being shot down
a slight tweeking of the patents and its inducted
Re: Amazing article on Drone attacks
Actually no you aren't M2K. If you were a realist you would understand that policies change, no nation has permanent friends only permanent interests. So you assume that India has so much influence over the US and its aims under the war on terror is rather stupid.

India has so much influence over USA because of India's growing role on the world stage and the large number of Indian Americans influencing decisions.
Pakistan has become a den of terrorism while India is seen as a land of investment and tapping into its large skilled population.
Re: Amazing article on Drone attacks
And how does that influence US military decisions and US interests?

M2K no one can deny India's achievements.
However,
Pak-US military alliance changed 500% for the better towards the end of Swat operation.
This is the first time in recent years that US military saw their old partner shine again and get the job done.
Pak army (and by extension) Pakistan is admired by the Pentagon for its role in stabilizing the hotspots.
And in this case, Swat and now S. Wazirastan are being secured and terrorists are being kicked out. If our politicians have the will and courage, we can easily supply 350,000 troops to Afghan mission and stabilize that basket case of a country in less than a year. Afghanistan is nothing but a bigger, dirtier, and smellier version of Wazirastan.
The role of Gen. Kiyani these days is pretty much the same as the role of much admired by the US (and much maligned by Russians and others) Gen. Zia.
Gen. Zia was the epitome of Pak nationalist (albiet a bad decision maker on Islamization), who worked with the West in may places inside and outside Pakistan.
Who can forget Gen. Zia and Pak army's role in saving Pro-US Jordan from the clutches Pro-Commie Palestinians. Had it not for the quick drubbing of Palis, Jordan would have been lost a long time ago.
Considering the close working relationship, Pentagon is more than willing to supply Pak army with whatever intelligence info, ammo and weapons they need. Who knows Pak army may have acquired the drones already. I don't think we'd be announcing this fact on the Madrassah loud speakers.
And how does that influence US military decisions and US interests?
It does because Indians can convince Americans that giving Pakistanis such advanced technology could jeopardize Indian security and thus American investments in India and the technology could be leaked to China.
